| I agree with the consensus and it's definitely about someone who has given up on their life and has either found a new way of living or some other meaning to live for- whether it be something as deep as huge as religion, or music, or painting, or whatever. A slight correction in the lyrics though, the 2nd line of the chorus is "If you belong in the world I saw" instead of "believe." amazing song. | |

| I sort of agree with shameless. I think there's a girl who is fed up with her life, her friends, her way of looking at things. And someone comes along, and shows her a new way to live. However, 'You wanted to fly, you can't close your eyes.' She's unwilling to let go of what is comfortable to her, and she thus can't accept this new way of life being offered to her. So she'll always stay where she is, because she 'can't close her eyes' | |

| I love this song so much. I mean, there is religious undertones obviously, but not necessarily organized religion. I think it's maybe about someone who's very depressed with their life and finding things too hard to carry on. Raine's saying that don't worry, this is just a holding tank for what's to come. Don't fuck it up and step out of the line to the next world. Be strong, we'll get there. | |

| Coming back to this song later, I see the spiritual side more. Whenever I play this song, I always get the image of Raine as some kind of leader, whether spiritual or political or whatever, and he's calling to people who want a different tomorrow. If you believed it the world he was calling, you wouldn't be afraid to fly. It seems to me to be a revolution song- get up off your ass and do something, because I can see the future, and I need shades. Disclaimer: No, I don't actually think Madia is a cult leader. | |

| Some of the other, newer songs tend to sound a bit too similar. This one doesn't sound so poppy, and I love the guitar here. And, since this is my first listen, hmm... Either I'm way off base, or I'm pointing out something painfully obvious :P. I get the impression that this is about a girl, I don't know why. The girl wanted the perfect life, gave everything for it. But she failed, And now she has nothing to fix it. If she could see the good in it all, the oppurtunities, she could make it. Hmm, actually, that does seem painfully obvious, hehe. | |

| Considering how Raine makes half his songs (or so it seems) about how hollow religion is (but not spirituality), I have a feeling that would be the topic of this song. Now, whether it's approaching it from the side of the person trying to believe and be happy, or from the side of the religion trying to convince a person to believe and be happy...I don't know. But I'd bet $5 on this being about religion. | |
