Verse
Well it's good to know that you'll be okay
I've been waiting for this
And I'll be there to sit while you pray
No one's blaming me
I'm not supposed to wait
When they open up your heart
Chorus x 2
No wait, I have been good
I understood
Like a machine
They'll fix you from the start
I'm in repair
Life that we share
I know that I'll be lost
But we're always in repair
Bridge
Lock the door, lock the door
Lock the door, lock the door
Lock the door, lock the door
Verse
And it's good to know that you'll drive away
From this car crash nightmare
And I'll be there to help you again
There's no danger
We're just killing time again
When they order up new parts
Chorus x 2
No wait, I have been good
I understood
Like a machine
They'll fix you from the start
I'm in repair
Life that we share
I know that I'll be lost
But we're always in repair
Tacit
Take this time
To figure it out
I don't know why
The fears, the things that you doubt
The wheels, the air, the metal, they mount
Something, something, something....
Break (with inaudible vocal background)
Chorus x 4
No wait, I have been good
I understood
Like a machine
They'll fix you from the start
I'm in repair
Life that we share
I know that I'll be lost
No wait, I have been good
I understood
Like a machine
They'll fix you from the start
I'm in repair
Life that we share
I know that I'll be lost
But we're always in repair
Tacit
Lock the door, lock the door
Lock the door, lock the door
Lock the door, lock the door

| biggreenmonkey, I totally agree with your interpretation of this song. I recently had a friend die from an overdose, and this is my song to him. | |

| Just when the commercialy released songs from Happiness pushed me away from OLP, here comes this genius of a song to set me right back on the OLP bandwagon and gave the other happiness songs a chance. Unreal song | |

| Are you sure that is what the spoken part is? It sounds completely different to me. Are there two versions of it? | |

| Well maybe it's because my friend's dad was recently in the hospital that I think this way, but it sounds like someone's having some sort of operation that's very dangerous. "Well it's good to know that you'll be okay I've been waiting for this And I'll be there to sit while you pray" Someone had some sort of heart problem and they have been waiting for this very dangerous operation to help them. This patient is optimistic about what will happen, but another person (say it's a family member) is told by doctors not to be hopefully because things may not turn out right, so they just sit there while the patient prays. "No one's blaming me I'm not supposed to wait When they open up your heart" The family member tried to help the person prevent this heart problem, and it's basically just telling the family member not to wait for this person because there is a chance when they try to fix there heart problem they will die. "I have been good I understood And like a machine they'll fix you From the start I'm in repair The life that we share I know that I'll be lost but we're always in repair" The doctors will do what they can and the family member understands this, but they will have the help the patient to get back to normal and it will always be a struggle for them. "Lock the door And it's good to know that you'll drive away From this car crash nightmare And I'll be there to help you again" The patient operation went okay and they're starting to get away from this nightmare they went through, and the family member is there to help them through every moment of it. "There's no danger we're just Killing time again Until they order up new parts" Tha patient is going to be okay but they're just waiting until the hospital gives him a transplant or a pacemaker of sorts. Anyway, that's my view. | |
