I'm not made of steel but i'm here for you through the good AND the bad times. this is my fav song on gravity b.c. it brings hope to you that there's that one person out there, that is there for you no matter what.

	this song reminds me of me and my girlfriend... lots of times you just need someone, and you need them to be something, sometimes you need someone to fight with you, or someone to listen, someone to love, someone to love you, and lots of times we think someone is a super hero, and even though they can't always do exactly what you want them to, they'll still be there for you. Just like me and my girlfriend when something happens she just needs me to be there, and maybe I can't be there exactly the way she wants, but I can always do something for her. awesome song...

	I have been coming to this site for my lyrics for the past few months now, and I must say the users do a wonderful job of figuring out these lyrics. Saying that, this is what i think this song means. I think most of you are dead on about the part that he wants to be there for her, but your missing the reason why he is saying that. Look at the lyric "I found the note down in your car" "And its not your fault it gets this hard" he repeats that line many times during the song. Now look at these lyrics I found the note down in your car - "I found the suicidie note in your car" And you climbed up here to fall apart - "She is on the ledge of a building and is about to jump" Fall apart Hold your head high - "look up at the sky" Don’t look down -"instead of the ground" I’m by your side - "he is on the ledge with her" Won’t back down - "and he won't back down until she does" You wanted a hero tonight - "she wanted a hero but got him" Well I’m not made of steel - "he is not a hero" I’m not made of steel But your secrets safe with me - "but he won't tell them why she was about to kill herself, so it makes you the reason she wants to die is unspeakably traumatic" No... Your secrets safe with me - "he won't tell anyone" They knock you down - "the reports will crowd around her knocking her down" I’ll pick you up... - "he will go without saying" They laugh at you - "the people watching might laugh at her...." I’ll shut them up - "but he will shut them up." That is what i think, i think he found this girl's suicidie note and is trying to be there for her when she is on the ledge of a building getting ready to jump and he is just talking her down and saying that it will be ok and he will protect her anyway he can, but he is no hero he can't save her from herself.... 	i think he's trying so hard to be everything she wants, but he just cant quite cut it. but isnt that good enough? shouldnt she just be happy that he wants to be everything? most guys wont even do that. he's there for her... that means everything. but she's so focused on being depressed that she doesnt see him trying to lift her up.

	this song reminds me of my boyfriend. he makes me feel like when he's with me- nothing can hurt me. i can do anything if he's by my side. "They knock you down I’ll pick you up... They laugh at you I’ll shut them up" His voice sounds so powerful when Raine sings that. "Hold your head high Don’t look down I’m by your side Won’t back down You wanted a hero tonight" Those 2 parts make me feel invincable as long as my boyfriend is with me.

	i dunno if i compltely agree with the suicide element of this song, but i totally see where you guys are coming from and it makes sense, it really does, but i think it is just him being there for a friend who is having problems getting over something and hes saying while hes not a hero he will be with her through all, come to think of it the more and more i think about this song i guess suicide fits nicely into the profile of the song, ok now im begining to see it alot clearer now, ok ill shut up now.
