Take these plastic people
Read their lips
Now let it linger
Is there anything that makes them sound sincere?

C'mon
Tightly hold your hand
Take a deep breath
Give them the finger
Are you worried that your thoughts are not quite
[Part 1]
clear?

Twitch!
Overlooked
My fate appears

[Part 2]
I remember falling
I remember marching
Like a one man army through the flames
I know I can't be
Well i believe in something
I don't want to remember falling
Your lies...
[Part 3]
Unbutton your clothes
Undress your soul
Show them your vigor
Are those inhibitions easiest to fear?

C'mon
Take this gasoline tin
Head up high
Walk like a winner
Let your bare feet be the last sounds
That they
[Part 1]
hear

Twitch
Oh bad looks
My fate appears
[Part 2]
I remember falling
I remember marching
Like a one man army through the flames
I know I can't be
Well i believe in something
I don't want to remember falling
Your lies...

i think that this song is about the lengths that some people go to to get others to like them, rather than just being accepted for who they truely are, like "unbutton your clothes".. could this be making up for their "unfit appearance"?? i also think its about how these "plastic people" can make you fall (ie make you feel bad about being yourself), and about how it is possible to stand-up tall, stand up for what you believe in, and who you are, and march through the fakeness and lies, like a "ONE MAN ARMY".. its about falling for societys concept of what you should act and/or look like, and their lies told to reinforce this, and showing that it is possible 2 stand up as an individual.

Now is it just me or does the first verse perfectly describe the "gestapo crap" scene from the Matrix? Also "falling for you lies" can equal believing the Matrix was reality. Finally, Neo can be seen as a One Man Army in the usual sense, and Smith can be seen as a very literal One Man Army. Just a connection I made. Have fun with it.

i think he's saying how he wants to be his own person, but it's really hard to do on your own. and it'd be easier if he didn't have to be a 'one man army' but had someone who was like him. he's also saying to keep yourself from becoming like them, just keep yourself away from them.

The song isn't about marching, it's about falling. "I don't want to remember falling." This guy remembers marching through life, self-assured, his own person. He entered a blaze, some sort of test, it was a lie, and he has fallen. Now, he needs to forget that happened so he can go on marching again. It isn't about individuality so much as it is about each and every individual person's one man march in the world. OLP's general message is about learning to rely on yourself, not how to become an individual (I think the individuality message is just one that people who frequent internet message boards are most apt to see). This song deals with what happens when something makes you trip.
