| I really don't think this is another generic, stand up on your own, and everyone else can shove-it song. In a sense it's talking about this attitude, but I think he's using the specific example of the Buddhist monks who doused themselves and gasoline and lit themselves (like when they were protasting the Vietnam war). Think about it... The traditional garb of the Buddhist monks: barefoot and some sort of a robe. Before they would light themselves, they would "unbutton their clothes", drench themselves in "gasoline", and essentially "let the bare feet be the last sound that they hear." The verse fits to: I remember falling I remember marching Like a one man army Through the blaze I remember coughing I believe in something I don't wanna remember falling For their lies | |

| It's about finding your own individuality and how it's hard to march alone. | |

| "Tightly hold your hand/Take a deep breath/Give them the finger" Oy I love that! I agree with PrecipitatingDreams...it's about facing the world and pulling through the day holding on to what you believe...not taking any crap from other people. | |

| Plastic people. Fake good intentions, fake loves, fake actions, you could say they're total hypocrites. So what if we're not as good looking as people? So what if we're not as amazing as some people? So what if we're not wealthy? Does it matter, you'd find someone who would love you in the end, to me,this song means that he wants to be himself. He knows himself,he knows what he should do,he's having problems, but he wants to forget the time he was a hypocrite. | |
