I just saw OLP live last week when they came to Salt Lake City and heard them perform this song, it was so great. Everyone in the audience could relate to it because at some point in our pathetic lives, we have to be there for someone.

My favorite song. Right now I feel the EXACT way that the person Raine's speaking about does.

I love OLP and they are my favorite! They are the best band and have the best lyrics! Whenever this song comes on i blast it and dont talk to anyone or do anything but listen to the lyrics and think how much i love this song.

These lyrics are much better than the other set. Anyway, I never really thought about it until unspokynpoet told us that story, but now that I think about it, it seems like there are two sides to the song. Obviously the song is about someone close to the singer who isn't doing well. However, the chorus strikes me: in the context of the song, it sounds like a friendly hug, saying 'I'm always there for you.' But if you think about the lyrics alone, they can also be threatening: No matter what you do to try to get rid of me, I'm following you. Also, perhaps the song is a mix of the two. The singer wants to make sure his friend is OK, but his desparate need to be there for the friend and constant budding in is more harmful to the friend than helpful. Just thought I'd throw a few ideas out.
