| I can't help but think that this song has a more spiritual meaning behind it. I always got a sense that OLP was aetheistic, but this song really speaks to me as a born-again type message. "I'm sorry, I can't lie I'm wasting too much time Drowning I've been blind But I've opened up my eyes Sorry, I can't lie " This just screams a cry for forgiveness. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't know much about the bands spiritual beliefs if any. Maybe someone can enlighten me on this subject. God Bless! | |

| I think this is one of the best songs on the album. To me the only song that beat it out was "A Story About A Girl"(the best song on Gravity) | |

| I agree that there is definitely a spiritual aspect, but I had thought of this great song more as a break-up song. The singer's girlfriend was never that good to him, and he has realized that it is alright to move on. He has been wasting time in a life that has not been fulfilling, and was blind believing that everything was alright. He opens up his eyes and sees that it's his time to move on. He says goodbye, and then focuses on seizing the day, which is what all of the "today" metaphors are about. | |

| Gravity. OLP seems to have to have one of these sort of songs in every CD. They have Hope in Naveed, 4am and Automatic Flowers and Clumsy in Clumsy, Annie and Happiness in Happiness, and Are You Sad and Life in Spiritual. | |

| i think it's sorta opposite of a "born again" religious feeling. I think it's talking about being oppressed by religion- and i'm just saying this from my point of view as someone who was from a deeply religous family and coming out of it and realizing all the things i could have missed out on while being governed under the rules of religion- and they're coming out of their religion realizing they were "blind" to all of the things they could have done and that they've "wasted too much time drowning" in everything that religion does to you. hence the feeling of seizing the day because they didn't do that before and they feel free now. that's what i gather from it:) | |

| A break up song. I just break up with my girlfriend, I was blinded by love, but I didnt notice the damage that she was doing to me. Now I just want to forget that and enjoy all things in life...This song is just a great song for it..helps me see the happiness and all the things that I was missing...I dont know If Im gonna forget this girl, or forgive her...but I know now I got to go on | |

| This is a fabulous song for sure. I think its just seizing the day. Pretty evident. Cleansing yourself of the things that are normal but not beneficial. Get rid of the things that are bad for you, but you never take the time to think about and get rid of. Great song, and great cd | |

| It seams like this song is about making a transition from one view on life that this person got sick of, and the hope that they will find in their new view. | |

| I'm not sure whether or not they're religious in general, since a lot of their songs make references that could be tied in with Christianity. Even if it's not, I definately don't think it's about futhering yourself from religion, highdiffado. Why would he have the line "And today's the hand of an angel You were not the kind to believe" if it were? So we know it's about grasping the moment, and either religion or relationships. | |

| lol Greensky is right. There isn't a song by OLP that I don't like. I hope that they don't pull a linkin park though and sell out. =\ That wouldn't be any fun but I'd be happy for them. Our Lady Peace is awesome! Peace | |

| hippy christians. every song with 'God' in it just has to be about God and born again christians, doesn't it? christ. you guys are missing part of the song, btw. the thing he is saying goodbye to, he keeps coming back to and leaving. listen to the lyrics at the end of the song - another goodbye, another goodbye. | |

| I can't help but see this song from a more sociological view. "Drowning I've been blind But I've opened up my eyes" This line, to me, is displaying Members Knowledge. He's been blind to everything that is going on around him and now he's starting to open up your eyes and realize what's going on. "Sorry, I can't lie" It's saying that he's not going to give in to what society is calling "normal" because in our society the norm IS to lie, whether it be a big lie or a small one to stop from hurtings someones feelings. ALSO, the line "Today we carry each other Today we do what we should Today's a time for forgiving Today I wish I could..." is saying that the norm should be to forgive and forget, but he is being a deviant in not being able to do that. But hey, that's just my opinion!! | |
