No, it isn't on MTV, and let's all pray none of their material will EVER air on MTV. As for the song.. Battlescars and another song (ahh, my superhero senses are failing me, but I'd bet on Shooting Stars) are actually brother/sister songs. They both are written based on the same train of thought, which has a war theme to it, particularly of a soldier coming back from the war..

This a great downer song, if youre feeling emotionally traumatized, this song helps. I mean, you just want to yel out the words, not just sing them and woo-hoo, Ozma is at Warped Tour, which they greatly deserve to be on, though Im mad at their friends Thrice arent going to be there.

Great song. The line, "There's battlescars on my guitars, but still I come out here and play," describes exactly how I feel. I would love to see it played live.

i think this song means a lot... "of all the shooting stars i knew, i never felt at east with anyone but you" "of all the shooting stars i knew, i never fell for anyone but you." to me, that's like how there are so many people you think highly of, so many peope who effect your life in a positive way, so many people that are absolutely wonderful, but with a lot of them, you don't really feel comfortable with them because they are so great, you don't feel you're good enough. this is about the one that you were comfortable with, the one you really fell for. "don't ever wonder where i go remember that the grass still grows beneath the snow" and then, it's about when you leave that person, you reasure them that you won't forget them, that they'll always mean something to you. "and now i've lost your touch again i know i'm only one in 20,000 men" no matter what, no matter how sure you are of the other person's feelings, you still can't help but get used to the fact that he/she is so wonderful, and you're just another person they know. no matter what, part of you will always doubt that you're a star to him/her, too. battle scars.....everybody has aches and pains, everybody has scars, you have to learn how to deal with them, to go on. and other people have to learn to love you, even though you hurt. that's what it is to me, at least. i think it's pretty universal, like it could go for a boyfriend/girlfriend, friend, family member...and who knows why you're leaving, school, war, work, whatever. it just works. heh...and after seeing them play this live, i get choked up every time i hear it. they put a lot in to this song.

I think the "battlescars" are a metaphor for baggage or the like...I agree quite a bit with MonsterLobster. It may be hard to come out and sing but he does it anyway. He's been through alot/isn't exactly perfect but she still loves him ("you still kiss me everyday"). Hmm..I sounded more right in my head.

I saw Ozma before I had ever even heard of them. The show is my favorite to the day. Ozma fans are awesome and I'm glad to be one of them. A lot of songs on "Rock and Roll Part Three" have to do with eachother. Someone said this song had to do with going to war and I totally agree. It's about recollecting memories of the relationship and how his girlfriend still accepts him as he is though he has baggage and scars. When this song is played live, it's amazing.. really the crowd gets so into it and knows every single word and note. I hope everyone gets a chance to see Ozma sometime.

(and driving home from your house at night i blink and make a hard right the tape you gave me flies across the dash and slaps me in the face) i've got the cd and i've heard a live version of the song, but i've never heard that lyric, but i remember on the old ozma site it had those lyrics in dark red. whats up with that?

I think this song has a deeper meanign than just being able to relate to it. The opening lyric: of all the shootingstars i knew i never felt at ease with anyone but you don't ever wonder where i go remember that the grass still grows beneath the snow In my mind makes reference to someone loosing a lover over something stupid. the next line: when everything around turns blue just fall asleep and wake when it's all through I think it's saying that life is sorta like a dream, good bad, it's still there. the next line: there's battlescars on all my guitars but i still come out here and play the guitar reference is easily assosiated with his heart, there's scars, but still he talks to her. Then the next line: and now i've lost your touch again i know i'm only one in 20,000 men i promise not to let you go just close your eyes and sleep right through the falling snow It's the artist telling that s/he had lost the person he's in love with. and How he wishes it was a dream. next line is the chorus, see above and it works with all of them into some body party of soul ect. Thank you, I bought this cd after watching a Mtv2 interview with the band from the Vans Warped Tour
