Yeah, it does seem like a bachelor party. Also, this song comes after "Lying is the most fun..." which is about a girl cheating on a guy. So that could make this like a revenge thing. "Isn't this exactly where you'd like me?"

I kind of agree with SinicallySerious on this one. He is trying to forget someone in a strip joint. I think the pronoun "You" in consitantly talking about a girl that he had a relationship. He thinks that she wants him to be forgetting her in a strip joint. But he faked it all along and he wouldn't be caught dead there. Why? He states two things that I think may give a clue he states that he is of concenting age to go there and that he is praying for love in a lapdance and paying in naivety. This makes me think that he is actually an introvert and wouldn't be so excentric to go to a strip joint after a breakup but he could if he wanted to, so NAH! He thinks that him praying for love and being naive is what she wants. He doesn't show any emotion over the girl he broke up with in this song and I think that is a major point.

I think that he is getting ready to be married (I write sins, not tragedies) and he is having his bachelor party at a strip joint, even though he doesn't want to be there. And the stripper likes him and she has him right were she wants him. He doens't like her..he loves the other women he is getting married to. The stripper is praying for him to love her after one lap dance, but she is ignoring the fact that this is a naive thought b/c he is getting married. He faked enjoying the lap dance, b/c he doesn't want to be there.....and then in 'I write sins, not tragedies' he is getting ready to be married and he over hears one of the bridesmaids..and the waiter's convo. and the bridesmaid knows that she probably cheated on him with someone else possibly at her bachelorette party. and he gets mad and says 'i chime in with a haven't you people ever heard of closing a God damn door' b/c he doesn't want to believe it. he says technically their marriage has been saved b/c she probably would have cheated on him again when they got married. and he is being sarcastic and says 'well this calls for a toast so pour the champaign' and he basically gets wasted b/c he is so depressed. Then in 'Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off' he is so pissed off he is talking about his almost wife..he says ' i hope to God he was worth it' b/c he wants her to regret what she did. and the whole part about i have a better kiss...so on so on.. he is saying just what he says she is the best that she ever could ever have, and he wants her to realize that. I mean obviously they had some hard core sex in the passenger seat and he really did love her, and he is heartbroken and he is talking about how he wants to regret what she did. Then in 'There's a good reason these tables are numbered hunny, you just haven't realized it yet' he is getting back at her...b/c they meet at a party and he is the center of attention. And i think that the guy that she(almost wife) cheated on him with obviously left her. and she might be trying to get back with him now b/c she has no one. And the whole part with 'trip to the ladys room.........i bet to them you look like sh--......choke back tears, tell yourself that i'm a diva' and so on....means she really does regret what she did and now she is pissed b/c she is like shit and he is the shit now. Then in ' Time to dance' it could possibly mean that at the party she got so upset that she killed herself or shot(just injured herself) the line ' well she's not bleeding on the ballroom floor...' He is upset that she did that but then again he is like Fuck you bitch forget you 'baby give me a break' hmm well this is pretty long so tell me what you think about my theory k thanks bye :)

The end of this song.. musically, is followed, into I Write Sins Not Tragedies. If you notice the last at least 10 seconds plus, the string intrument, that produces a movie like feel (sorry i do not know the intstrument) is further followed into the beginning of I Write Sins Not Tragedies, thus I am sure this song will follow it.

The title of this song continues the title "Lying is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off" from another song on the album. And when put together, it makes a quote from the movie "Closer" with Natalie Portman and Jude Law. Portman is a stripper in the movie.

i agree. you could almost call this a concept record. i mean with the whole telling a story with "Lying" being about cheating, "But it's better if you do" being about revenge and trying to get back at the girl. and "I write sins" being the wedding that obviously goes way wrong."what a shame, what a shame, the poor grooms bride is a whore". I could definitly say the tail end of this amazing cd is a concept kind of feel. i like it. i'm falling in love with this cd all over again. lol.

I think he just got out of a long-term relationship and goes to a strip club and falls in love out of desperation with the first stripper he meets because she's giving him a lap dance. When he realizes the feelings aren't mutual he finds himself playing hard to get. I feel that that makes the most sense. I love this song!

If you haven't read my stuff yet I'm doing this in a series, because I look at this as a story. So start at the beginning with "Nails for Breakfast" and advance in CD track order, it makes this much less confusing. Thanks! I can partially agree with SinicallySerious, but I think he actually WAS there, in the physical, (although it could be the case that he was lying) but maybe it's more metaphorical, like he wasn't "there", as in he had his mind on revenge over stimulation. "Faking it" could refer to an orgasm, as well. Say he wanted to go along with the stripper who gives him the alleged lap dance and fakes it. After all, they fire strippers who aren't effective. Let's take a look at these lyrics: And isn't this exactly where you'd like me I'm exactly where you'd like me you know Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety Oh and isn't this exactly where you'd like me I'm exactly where you'd like me you know Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety. These point to the idea that the girlfriend would want him to be in a strip club for his own pleasure, so she wouldn't feel bad about cheating and/or dumping him after. Some lyrics point to having this as his mindset: Now I'm of consenting age to be forgetting you in a cabaret Although, this also points to the idea of him being hurt and truly trying to get over her, along with this: Praying for love and paying in naivety Any thoughts? Next Up: I Write Sins, Not Tragedies

so in "lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off" it's about his gf cheating on him and then in "but it's better if you do" i think either hes getting revenge or it is a bachealor party or a little of both note how in "i write sins not tragedies" the bridesmade says to the waitor "isn't it a shame the poor groom's bride is a whore" talking about her cheating on him in "lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off" blind sinner i think these songs do connect and have meaning b/c panic! is a really good band and idk if they would hvae a ranom meanignless song about a guy in a strip joint

I like this song it's like.. to me it sounds like a bachelor party that the guy doesn't want. And then it links into the marriage and I write sins, not tragedies. And I never figured that out about the titles. Hot xD

I do think the song is about a guy right after a bad break up but it seems to me that its more like he's trying to make it seem like he's heartbroken over her and he is trying to cover it up with strippers but then BLAM! Well I'm afraid that I Well that's right That I may have faked it and I wouldn't be caught dead in this place He totally faked it. He wasn't there. he wasn't heartbroken over her, like she wanted him to be. This song is like him saying "yeah, you wanted me to be heartbroken over you but you know what? I'm not."

well it sort of seems for like (for lack of better word) a heartbroken boy looking for consolation at a strip club... "Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety"

flyingseal - i think the whole chorus is referring to the stripper in the song... he's sitting down paying for a lap dance looking for love, hence it's right where the stripper wants him to be.

im pretty sure its got nothing to do with a bachelor party its just a guy singing to a somebody, not even a girl neccessarily, that doesnt like him and wishes that hes shallow enough to hang out at strip clubs. the guy sings sarcastically back about all his wonderful adventures at the clubs but then in the chorus rips the other person a new one saying "I'm exactly where you'd like me you know Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety Well I'm afraid that I Well, I may have faked it and I wouldn't be caught dead in this place" its just a guy poking fun at someone that doesnt like him. no need to read quite so far into stuff.

i think he is saying that he is age to go to a strip joint and drink and do what ever he wants and she cant say shit about it but....he does not want to go to there he just says that she does not rule his life. nothing about a bachelor party or anything the title is simple to But it;s better if you do meaning it is better if she says what he can and can not do it because when he says what he can do than he does not like it. Simple

I had no idea that Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off and this song had to do with the movie "Closer". I love that movie (if you haven't seen it you should). That movie is really really sexual, and I think Panic! At the Disco is too. Pretty much all of their themes go along with Closer and I think that's awesome.

I think its about a guy who broke up with his girlfriend, and she wanted him to be all broken-up about her and have to go to strip joints to try and just get her out of his head, and he's just saying "I'm not". Hence the "I may have faked it" part, skakid. He may have just faked that he was going to all these places, and he really would never go there and isn't all upset over her.

this song seems like it's a prelude to "I Write Sins Not Tragedies". "I Write Sins..." is about a wedding, right? So this is like the bachelor party...to me...hence, "I wouldn't be caught dead in this place"

I think the line actually is, "the strip joint veteran sits two away"
