Obviously about the effects of addiction and the irony of him outliving the majority of people who criticize him. As for you Snapper, ... way to go. Without your guidance, I would have been lost. Did you know, "Cowboys From Hell" is about the band's rebellion against the "Texas image." :P

I must say this; Sometimes what the booklet says is not always what they sing on the CD. I know this from an alice in chains song called frogs, in the booklet there's a line saying "flowers watched through wide brown eyes" they sing "flowers watched through wide eyes blue" but do I know Anyway hard lines and sunken cheeks is one of many cool song by Pantera does anybody know that Pant(h)era is latin for big cat?

I assumed "My soul for a goat" had something to do with Baphomet.

quite possibly the best solo i have ever heard by dime or by anybody, even george lynch and tony macalpine. the first time i heard this song, i skipped it, because the first minute pissed me off. then one fucking awsome day i said, aw fuck it, ill listen to it all. and i did, and i listened to the solo like 50 times that day. truly dime's best work.

Actually, according to the Far beyond Driven booklet, it does say "I smoke all day, I drink all day, I've done it all but tap the vein". This is definitely one of Pantera's best songs!

I THINK...and don't quote me on this...but I've been told that the line after *i smoke all day* is *I took madonna's breath away*...I dunno...but if you listen, it really does sound like that's what he's saying. Anyway..this song is fucking great and Pantera is one of the greatest metal bands of all time. \m/

"hard lines, sunken cheeks" is how people look after a long time of heroin addiction....

The way I see it, it has a lot to do with Christians commercializing themselves and also looking down upon Phil. It has some drug references, too. The goat thing refers to people telling him he's going to hell, the way I see it, because the devil is supposed to be somewhat represented with the head of a goat. And I can't believe no one has mentioned the solo on this one. This is one one of my favorite Dime solos, especially the harmonized part towards the end of it. Brilliant playing. Briliant song!!! Dime will be forever missed. R.I.P.

Heroin. I've done it all but tap the vein, clear reference to mainlining junk. Read the lyrics; they can be applied to Junk easily. Alas, Phil was getting into it heavy during this period too.

These lyrics read like some sort of personal diary. It's about Phil's public image, about people (especially Christians) who throw shit on him and criticisize his behavior. But he's saying: "yeah, you think I'm mad and I'm rotten inside, yet I'm going to fuck you all"
