| I personally think this song is about a friend of his who got into some really heavy drugs(heavier than what phil was doing) and hes now a hopeless drug addict. Drug addicts are usually hollow inside because they are consumed by there drug. He is saying about how they talked about what they want to achieve in life and how his addiction is affecting his family. | |

| No he says "month". If his friend is in a vegetable state, how would they talk on the phone the previous night? This song is amazing. Definately about a friend of his who's as good as dead and Phil is angry at God for taking him from him. Another masterpiece from the cowboys. | |

| I am surprised this song does not have very many comments!!! This song is about someone's best friend going either brain dead or into a coma. The guitars in this song send chills down my spine! | |

| This is my favorite song by Pantera. I actually work with people who are like what he describes in this song. The shells of what they once were. I can really feel his pain in this song. The is truely one of the most touching songs ever. | |

| How can you say that Pantera stolen the idea from Metallica? First of all the point of view is completely different in this song. He is talking about a friend. In One James is singing in the first point of view that he is the one lying there and can't do anything. Secondly I think that when Phil wrote this song he had a real event that happened in his mind rather then "oh yeah man lets copy Metallica." This song is way different from anyhow. The music sounds nothing the same and the lyrics are alot different. Just because they are on the same kind of subject material doesn't mean its the same. How many songs do we have about sex? Are they all the same because they are all about sex? RIP Dime | |

| This song describes how I feel about a family member, who isn't dead, but has OCD. He is not what he used to be, and life seems to have been drained from him. I got kinda sad when I first heard it, and that high, screechy lead part by Dimebag just before the heavy part put a chill down my spine, it just had anger written all over it, just like i felt. Top stuff by the best band ever. | |

| i am pretty sure this is about a guy who was in some kind of accident. Either on his own or at fault of the singers perspective and he is not in some kind of a coma or permanantley brain damaged or something along those lines. Pantera songs are always tough to interperut | |

| I liked this song better when it was called "One" and performed by Metallica. | |
