Band:PanterA
Song:Becoming
Album:Far Beyond Driven
Tabbed By:Robert Tyler DrowningRedneck@aol.com

Note:Okay, I'm a huge PanterA fan,and i love the song Becoming,But when
i went online the one tab that i found was incorrect, so I took the time
to tab the song correctly, now to the tab.....The one effect that is used
throughout the song is the RING MODULATOR this is the only effect that i
can find that sounds perfect with many Pantera songs. On a scale for 1-30
set the Ring on a 9. I will guide you though most of the correct ways to
use the Ring Mod.

I love this song, one of Panteras best which is saying alot since they rarely make a bad song. Frabeyonddriven makes a good point, but I dunno for sure.

This song is about rising thorugh social class bullshit, and manipulating society, sort of like hitler did, but more phil anselmoish. good drums by Vinnie, just learned it a month ago after a while of trying.

To me, this song could be about the devil. I'm not a Christian so I'm not preaching or anything like that, but I get that impression from lyrics such as "A long time ago I never knew myself (the devil was an angel) then the memory of shame birthed its gift" (he turned to a devil) "Driven and burning to rise beyond Jesus" (the devil wants to be stronger than Jesus, as in the old good vs. bad moral fight) And more: I can see you, can fuck you, inside of you. Staring through Your eyes. Belittle your friends to serve me, to suck me, To realize my saving grasp. I of suicide. I the unlord" These are the ways the devil could possibly manipulate people. "I'm born again with snakes eyes Becoming Godsize" He's now the devil, and he's becoming "Godsize" because there's a lot of people that worships the devil in one way or another, so he's gaining power. Just my thought.
