This song is so slow and beautiful, it really shows that not only is Pearl jam unafraid to make what they want, but that they are damn good at it..... My favorite line is: All evenings close like this. All these moments that I've missed. No code is obviously my favorite album

This song was written by Jack Irons (Pearl Jam drummer before Soundgarden's Matt Cameron took his place) as a lullaby for his son.

a sort of "goodwish" showered on someone, not necessarily an infant, in the form of a soothing lullaby.... i feel, even if slightly, this song's concept is similar to simon and garfunkel's "bridge over troubled waters"... especially the 2nd part of that song... " sail on silver girl.. sail on by...all your dreams are on their way (off you dream my little child, there's a sun around the bend)...."

TempleDog is right on with the meaning. But yeah this song is really a great lullabye type of song. It puts me in a good mood whenever I listen. Sometimes it actually helps me fall asleep. No Code is the ultimate PJ album.
