| Isn't it obvious that this is Eddie's last song and cry for help before the entire band was taken over by an underground revolutionary culture of raging mind-altering insects. | |

| This song confuses me.... not the song but people's opinion about pearl jam and then this song existing..... Quote.....: "Yeah i Listened to pearl jam for the first two albums, then they started to take themselves too seriously and their music began to suffer they lost their edge." How can you say pearl jam takes themselves too seriously when they released this song on a STUDIO ALBUM!!! This song is so Fun and laid back but at the same time it is urgent and nervous it is very unsure of it self..... Eddie is clearly feeling insecure of his environment in this song ... | |

| Um...I though it was about Pearl Jam's record company trying to control the band or something. Probably wrong though. | |

| In all seriousness, i thought the song was about incest, and the "prison syndrome", in which people gradually come to relate to their "masters (for a lack of a better word)"... like just about every Pearl Jam song it is terrific i think. | |

| This song is great. I think you can sense what it's about, it's not supposed to be hyper analyzed. It's just about having stresses and problems in your life and feeling like your will is being usurped. | |

| its not about insects. its bugs as in listening devices. but its not about those either. basically, this song is a lot like corduroy or not for you or half the songs on vitalogy. as he gets more famous, his privacy is being invaded and its making him uncomfortable and confused. he doesnt know what to do about all the attention. in the end, everyone knows so much about him that its like hes naked. | |

| I just picture Eddie lying around in his living room drinking diet soda when all these butterflies invade and swarm and by the end he decides to "join them" so he dances around with them. I am so messed up. | |
