	hm i totally intepret this different. I think its about a kid whos going thru a hard time and he comes home to find hes locked out , he needs to get away from everything and so he picks up his surf board and surfs... hes really talented and its like he's flying on his board , he feels like hes flying and he also is in his mind. I jus think its like this because its something where i imagine you wouldnt think like when you play guitar, because its soulful. I think maybe the second verse is about how he tries to share this release with other people, his passion for it, it can be applied to anything, but not everyone shares this love and passion for his intrest.... maybe it means he had problems with bullys etc... and he could escape from everything while surfing. I think its a nice story how intepret it though its not as surreal or big or heroic.

	This so obviously about God and/or Jesus you just have to read the lyrics to know it. Jesus was stabbed and betrayed ."The love he receives is the love that is saved" Saved by sacrificing himself.

	Great song. Epic in nature as well as story. To me, it is basically a fable, of sorts, about a depressed man finding his joy, which in essence is the 'key' to living life. The man is so noble, hence a Jesus-like visage, that he wanted to share this state of being with others. Ofcourse, having obtained something so valuable has made others greedy and they, 'the faceless men', would try to bring him down. The greatest triumph, as projected by the song, is that these 'fuckers' could not ultimately defeat this man's will to spread his joys. So figuratively, he is given to fly; a mythical figure much more enlightened than any of us will ever be.

	It is more like Eddie to write a song about a real person. I wonder if this man in this song is a real human that inspired him to write about. The explanation you give seems too obvious and fague for Eddie. I'm thinking that their is a story behind the man but don't ask me.
