| Eddie said once during a concert in London just a few months after it was recorded, Eddie advised fans to "listen to this song in a car really fast, driving away from something you hate." | |

| This song absolutely blows me away. The beginning justifies the end, because you get that sense of anticipation that there's going to be a turning point. Everyone's right - the music and the lyrics work alongside each other perfectly. The anger and burst of emotion that comes out at the end is the best part. When I'm angry, I always blast this song and imagine me darting along the highway at break-neck speed, and it never fails to make me feel better. | |

| I found an old Rolling Stone the other day, 1994. Pearl Jam on the cover :-) It said RVM was about suicide - editor's words - not Eddies'. I didn't believe it for one second. It's always been about someone getting the fuck out of there. | |

| Whenever I'm really stressed I listen to Vs, and I always feel better afterwards, usually at the end of Rearview Mirror. The early songs and the first half of this one are like releasing anger, and then the second half of the song feels like finally escaping, which is the real point of it. | |
