I have of this song, just Eddie playing and singing.
Thanks to the first post for the opening riff.
Any suggestions/corrections let me know.

| youre very close - on storytellers he said that the song is "about a guy who is not only leaving a relationship behind but eveything they had know, and i think it celebrates the unknown... when the unknown is normally portrayed as daunting".... | |

| I heard that the album will be out by May 2 too. Read it on the pearl jam forum that some radiostation in USA said so. It haven't been verified by the 10club yet so its just rumors. But it sure as hell would be great, imagine a Pearl Jam concert next summer :D I don't really know what the song is about but some parts are clearly about the state of America nowadays. | |

| This song really showcases Eddie's voice, I mean wow, his voice was in tip top shape for this session.... the guitar sounds a bit like 4-20-02, but it's a little bit more complicated, the version I heard was live and Ioved it, I can't wait for the studio version:) | |

| although ive never heard this song just by reading it i believe its about how the American Culture is just wasteful. and how we spend to much money on shit that should be cheaper "When the gas in my tank feels like money in the bank" and how he just wans to stop and leave so he doesnt have to deal with the problem | |

| Actually all of you are very wrong about why Eddie wrote this song...if you take notice it becomes very obvious...he wrote it just 15 days after Alice In Chains front man Layne Staleys death and 5 days after his body was found in the hotel room after a herion overdose.....this song was a tribute to him and set as a hidden track. "I’m gonna blow it all this time, take me one last ride." Refers to Laynes Drug addiction and the last ride being the 8ball which lead to his death. | |

| Cheesehead watch VH1 storytellers on Youtube. Eddie specifically states that the song is about a person leaving a relationship and in doing so he also leaves everything behind as well in order to find the person they dream of being. Its not about Layne. If it was I think Eddie would of said so in storytellers. If he didn't tell us the true meaning of the song then that would be disingenous of him and Eddie is anything but that. | |

| Sounds to me like they're feeling the need to go to the boondocks lol.... I think It's just about wanting to get away from the daily hustle and bustle and finding a simpler way, But the lyrics are more ominous than say Drifting a song of similar topic... Then again, I haven't even heard the song, it was just what I picked up by reading the lyrics... And don't hold me to it but, I heard news today that the new album will be out on May 2nd... And the first single will be World Wide Suicide... | |
