The last 3 verses seem to be about a cry for world peace. Wishing the world would glow again with love, and "break the sky and tell me what its for" means that people fight and war each other, but whats the point of it? everyone should just love each other. Its a beautiful song...my personal favorite from Pearl Jam. :)

This song is so beautiful. It really brings out Eddie's voice. It's very sad but with a happy melody. It's my favourite song on the album, I always imagine a beach and a parachute and the mountains and stuff... Great song!

i've heard this song, its quite different from the others on the album. Very good song. slowish paced and the words are coherent. Eddies voice is very intresting, the tune isn't "set" it changes on every few words. Amazing song

LOL, no I haven't heard the songs yet,... but there was a leak and some guys on the red mosquito forum were discussing the songs, and one of them decided to start a thread of "the leaked lyrics" or something,... These are just the finished products of that thread ;) And I thought it'd be one hell of an idea to post up the lyrics before the album came out to discuss them,... I've heard that this song has been compared to sounding like the beatles,.. Almost like it's a Pearl Jam sort of tribute to them,... but yeah I haven't heard any of the leaked songs,.. I can wait "not me, not now, what smart kids say to leaks:)"

it reminds me off one of those 60's peace/ anti-war songs. eddie's voice is amazing on it.

As this song starts, it makes me smile. It sounds so usual at the beginning, but later u can hear really beautiful harmonies and modulations. The whole song is just awesome, really original as for this new album

It's a beautiful song, but the lyrics read like they were translated to Chinese in Babelfish and then translated back.

this song, lyrically, reminds me of the film 'Big Fish'. It could have replaced 'Man of the Hour' as PJ's song for that soundtrack. I believe it to be a dying person's last words to the love of their life. Very romantic song. I think its " I don't wanna know your plans" not "past".
