Lyrics

The sun shines and leaves blow
and my hope like autumn is turning brown.
I know it seems like
I am always falling down

but it does not matter to me
although it seems like it should
it's because I know I am understood
when I hear Him say

rest in me little David
and dry all your tears
you can lay down your armor
and have no fears
because I'm always here when you're tired of running
I'm all the strength that you need

It's uphill both ways
tomorrow I swear I won't act this way
I know it seems like
that is what I always say

rest in me little David
and dry all your tears
you can lay down your armor
and have no fears
because I'm always here when you're tired of running
I'm all the strength that you need

you know I want to be like Jesus
but it seems so very far away
when will I learn to obey

this is one damn good song. it is by far my favorite one by them. its so simple, yet complex in its own way. you can tell his emotion in the song, and the way he feels. gosh, its so good. "its uphill, both ways. tomorrow i swear i wont act this way." perfect.

this song gives me so much comfort... "you can lay down your armor and have no fear, i am always here when you're tired of running." sometimes, I just have to remember to stop.

this is probably my favorite pedro song. its so calm and mellow and the lyrics really would work as an actual lullaby. the lyrics "im always here when your tired of running, im all the strength that u need" just make me feel happier.

such a serene song, I love the way David tells a story thru his lyrics, so few writers are good at that these days.

These lyrics work well even without music. I love "my hope like autumn is turning brown" because I know exactly what that feels like.

you know i want to be like Jesus but it seems so very far away when will i learn to obey Hits me hard. Its an impossible journey to be like Christ and especially when you look at all his characterists on whole. Then you look at where you're at... but its as simple as obeying.

to battaryacid, David doesn't like this song because, when it was written and played, it was for God from him. He wanted other people to see this, and for them to use this too. But it ended up that people were using the song to worship him, Dave Bazaan, instead of God. Therefore, he doesn't like to play int anymore.
