++++++++ It's a sin: P e t S h o p B o y s ++++++++
++ Chords by Nabila (trillian@cs.bu.edu) ++
Hi!
I figured out the chords for this song on my synth. It sounds
best with a deep brass section. I guess you can use the same chords
for the guitar too. Here are the notes that I play for these
chords:
C h o r d C h a r t:
----------------------
Cm - C Eb G
Fm(ii) +second inversion+ - C F Ab
Bb - Bb D F
Eb - Eb A Bb
Ab - Ab C Eb
Fm - F Ab C
G - G B D
Ebm(i) +first inversion+ - Gb Bb Eb
Gbm - G Bb D
Bb(?) - Bb D G
G(i) +first inversion+ - B D G
I t ' s A S i n
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
Cm Fm(ii) Bb
When I look back upon my life
Eb Ab
It's always with a sense of shame
Fm G
I've always been the one to blame
Cm Fm(ii) Bb
For everything I long to do
Eb Ab
No matter when or where or who
Fm G
Has one thing in common, too
[Really fast]: Cm Cm Cm Cm Fm(ii) Bb
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
Cm Cm Cm Cm Fm(ii)
It's a sin
Fm
Everything I've ever done
G
Everything I ever do
Fm
Every place I've ever been
G(higher)
Everywhere I'm going to
It's a sin
At school they taught me how to be
So pure in thought and word and deed
They didn't quite succeed
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common, too
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
It's a sin
Everything I've ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to
It's a sin
Cm Ebm(i)
Father, forgive me, I tried not to do it
Gbm Cm Bb(?)
Turned over a new leaf, then tore right through it
Cm Ebm(i)
Whatever you taught me, I didn't believe it
Gbm Ab
Father, you fought me, 'cause I didn't care
Bb(?) G(i)
And I still don't understand
So I look back upon my life
Forever with a sense of shame
I've always been the one to blame
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common, too
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
It's a sin
Everything I've ever done
Everything I ever do
Every place I've ever been
Everywhere I'm going to - it's a sin
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a sin
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
While he's saying this stuff, play the notes to the chords
Cm and Fm(ii) really fast with an extra C at the end of each chord.
Play it in progression.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
(Confiteor Deo omnipotenti vobis fratres, quia peccavi nimis cogitatione,
verbo, opere et omissione, mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa)
[trans. "I confess to almighty God,
and to you my brothers,
that I have sinned exceedingly
in thought, word, act and omission,
through my fault, through my fault,
through my most grievous fault"]
(Zero!)

| Yeah... I think that it is about Homosexuality, as well as doing things that the "Moral Majority" percieves as sinful and wrong. | |

| This song is really about the religeous and cultural prejudice against male homosexuality. In the eyes of society[and the church of couse], if you're gay than you're inherently Bad(sinful) and there's nothing you can do yo redeme yourself. | |
