	I heard him talking about why he wrote this and how he came about it. If I have it right, he had just seen a group of old friends, and just felt so angry at the way they had changed in the time apart, that when he got home he just sat down and wrote this song about them. I'm pretty sure that's the story of the song.

	i think this song is from the point of view of a close friend as well and they havent talked in ages cause she changed and went to a different group and didnt want to be friends with him anymore because he's 'not as cool'. I think its such a pretty song i love listening to it coz its so calming.

	I saw an interview after Pete Murray had performed 'So Beautiful' live - he said that the song wasn't about an old girlfriend or anyone at all, it was about a party he'd been to and he noticed how 'plastic' everyone was acting, and just said that he was sick of how people feel they have to act a certain way to be accepted, so he wrote the song about it.

	For me, this song always makes me think of my nextdoor neighbour. Without going into all the details of that (though it'll be pretty obvious)... I think that it could have been writen from a guy's perspective who once had a crush on a girl (though more likely an ex... but lets just go with my story). He realised that it was only a crush but the girl thinks that he loves her and always will. The guy sees how she's changed so much and has become so 'plastic' but still cares about her as a friend and wishes she would listen to him. She doesn't listen because she thinks that she is better than him. She thinks that she is right about everything and follows what she Thinks is normal and doesn't understand that what friends say isn't always true. It's also very interesting to note that when i was trying to teach her to play guitar early this year (before she freaked out once again and thought that it wasn't appropriate)... i played it to her and she didn't even consider that i was talking about her and saying "wake up you idiot, get over yourself already!!!"

	to me, whenever i hear this song i think about a "friend", who ditched most of the people who cared for them, to be cool and hang out with their partner 24/7 and lose anyone that was not "in" with them. to me its a song about a person who ditches those that care for them to be cool and doesnt realise how they are isolating themselves from the world to the extent that they dont realise the real people that they are hurting. just my thoughts....=)

	this song is about a guy who was in love with a girl for a long time, but now its over and now she hangs out with a totally different crowd and has changed a lot, so much so its like he doesnt know her anymore

	Maybe about a girl who thinks she is a princess, believes in fairy tales and lives in her own world...he just can't seem to find a way in. She annoys him but he is fasinated by her.
