Here, I'll add a little to Rod Nolan's preliminary version (Ok, I
cheated, I had the SNL performance on video):

E A E A (x2)
Let me run with you tonight I'll take you on a moonlight ride
There's someone I used to see but she don't give a damn for me

So let's get to the point let's roll another joint
E B E A
Turn the radio loud I'm too alone to be proud
E D A
You don't know how it feels
E D A E A
You don't know how it feels...to be me
E A E A (x2)
People come people go some grow young some grow cold
I woke up in between a memory and a dream
Chorus (2):
E B E A
So let's get to the point let's roll another joint
E B E A
let's head on down the road to somewhere I gotta go
E D A
You don't know how it feels
E D A
You don't know how it feels
E D A E A

My old man was born to rock but he's still tryin' to beat the clock
Think of me what you will I've still got a little space to fill
Chorus (2) x 2

You Dont Know How It Feels
By Tom Petty
This is the way that I play the bridge part to this song.
I think that it sounds better this way.

| I agree with Hippychips and Fanko. He's depressed maybe because a girl dumped him or something, so he wants to go out and get high to think about things. Great song | |

| yea this song is most likely about his ex-wife. Because as far as i know wildflowers was written during his divorce. but this is a great song anyway. all of his music is great. every one of his songs puts me in an incredibly euphoric state of mind. | |

| he's depressed, wants to get his mind off things, what's a better way than getting stoned with no one around "radio loud?" actually sort of a sad song. | |

| this song makes me think of this driving down a country road with the window down smokin a cigarette at that point were the moon is out but the light is still in the west, but its not daytime, but its not really night, flying down this country road with this song playing, after a realaiotnship or some other traume, knowing for the first time after the accident that you know, you'll be alright after all. it's going to hurt and take some time, but you'll live. | |

| This song does make me want to turn the radio loud, and roll a joint. I think its about getting dumped by a cold hearted chick, and wanting to get your mind off of it. | |

| This song totally agrees with me. People keep telling me who I am, what I want, and how to do things. They don't know how it feels to be me. The anti-depressants don't work. So then you use natural medicine, i.e. cannibis. Sad, but that's how it is for many people. | |

| whatup meng. how come everyone has come down to arguing in this thing, if any of you really really smoked bud you'd make this more of an enlightening discussion, rather than a fucking pathetic argument. sorry. but seriously. us stoners dont even have to explain, we know what the song means to us individually. peace and love, meng | |
