Ok, This song took me a LONG time to sit down and figure out, but I
think I've gotten very close to having it down perfectly. I used
the
version off A Live One for the Intro. Keep in mind that these are
the CHORDS
UNDERLYING THE SONG, not the tabs. Trey plays it differently every
time, but he always keeps the chords underneath constant (well, most
of
the time). Sorry, but no timing information is availble.
---
INTRO:
Dm --> Am(V) x4
F --> Em x4 then Am(I)
E#9 (I don't think this is it, but it's close enough)
. .
Dm Em(VII) Am(V)
Harry! Harry! Where do you go when the lights go out x3
. .
Dm Em(VII) Am(V) D
Harry! Harry! Where do you ... Go?
This leads into :
(First D chord below is same as one written above "Go".. it continues
as
follows)
D A G x2
then
G Em F#m
G Em A(I)
D A G x2
G Em F#m
G Em A(I)
Then alternate between A(I) and E as necessary ( listen to the song
for
timing)
G F#m Em F#m
G F#m Em F#m Em F#m G G#
A D E D E D x6
Dbm Bm A(I)
Alternate again between A(I) and E as necessary ( " " " " )
D C (I think.. this I was unsure about .. Part where Paige plays
right
before the part following):
Heavy Guitar w/ distortion (Trey solos over this, but I couldn't
figure
this part out)
Bm
THANK YOU MR. MINER!
A --> Bm
C#m
THANK YOU MR. MINER!
B C#m
Ebm
E(VII) A E(VII) A E(VII) A
Thank you Mr. Miner.. Thank you Mr. Miner.. Thank you Mr. Miner..
A
Thank you Mr. Hood.....
CHORDS UNDERLYING JAM:

At the end of the Jam...
..G D A G
You can feel good, good, good about Hood... x4

I FEEL GOOD!!

I'm a dunce about music and can't read worth a darn... I can't give you note
or chord names so I numbered the chord configurations... sorry if this is
annoying but once you get used to the chords (and the rhythm) you'll be able
to play the song.
Listen to the song to get the rhythm.
harry.. harry.. where do you go when the lights go out?
harry.. harry.. where.... do.... you.... go??????????

| harry hood was the mascot for the Hood company. The sign would shut out at night leaving one to ask"where do you go when the lights go out?" you can feel good about hood was their slogan. | |

| i forget the whole story, but this should help non-diehards make sense of this song. the band was renting out some place and mr. minor was their landlord and harry hood was some restaurant that they could see from their window at the apartment. i dunno consult phish.net for the full story, i forget the full deal. | |

| There are many different origins of this song. Page and Jon i believe had an apartment across from the Harry Hood factory. The music was written by Trey & Fish in Europe. The lyrics/idea of the song was inspired by all of them doing acid, and looking across at "Harry Hood" on the billboard and wondering "Where does he go." Told to me by someone who went to college with Phish and was there in the apartment when that happened. | |

| Wrong, Harry Hood is Hood Dairies' mascot. The Harry Hood sign was neon and would shut off at night. Thus the lyric, "Where do you go when the lights go out?" You can feel good about Hood is the company's slogan. | |

| the HArry hood mascot was a pimp who lived in the fridge and kindly greeted the people in the commercials who wanted some HOOD brand milk. In feigned sadness/curiosity, The actors alway exclaimed " Where do you go when the lights go out". or "Oot" for the canadian viewers | |

| i thought it had to do with putting milk in the refrig. and when you close the frig door the lights go out... hence where do you go when the lights go out. | |
