Good Lord this song is phenomenal, so emotional. I don't think think this song has one literal meaning, rather it seems to be speaking of loneliness. While it seems clear that it has love-connotations to it, the song seems to be much more broad than that alone. The last verse portrays helplessness ("my legs fail me, distant lights are calling ... tearing my heart out"). From a lyrical stand point, this song is incredible, and its lyricism is certainly matched with the other songs on the album.

awesome song, Pilate rocks, and they rock even more in concert. Their shows are never more than $10, and they play almost anywhere. I just hope they come out with new stuff soon.

chuck do you have Into the West, and not Caught by the Window? is that why you are asking? If so I suggest you get CBTW, it is an excellent album and is a lot different then Into the west

This song makes me want to cry when I hear it. To me, it's not about revenge, it's about....longing to be with someone very badly, to help them, or to save them but knowing that you can't. And in the process of trying to tear their walls down - you forget yourself.

I don't really like any of their other songs, but I just love this one
