Pink Floyd - A Pillow Of Winds (Waters, Gilmour)

E(addF#) F#m/E Emaj7

F#m/E B(addE) Emaj7
A cloud of eiderdown draws around me softening the sound.

Bm/E
Sleepy time when I lie with my love by my side, and she's breathing low.

E(addF#)
And the candle dies.

E(addF#)
When night comes down, you lock the door.

The book falls to the floor.

As darkness falls and waves roll by, the seasons change.

The wind is warm.

Now wakes the owl. Now sleeps the swan.

Behold a dream, the dream is gone.

Green fields, a cold rain is falling in a golden dawn.

F#m/E B(addE) Emaj7
And deep beneath the ground the early morning sounds and I______ go down.

Bm/E
Sleeping time when I lie with my love by my side and she's breathing low.

And I rise like a bird in the haze when the first rays touch the sky.

E(addF#) F#m/E Emaj7 Bm/E
And the night winds die.

To me, its about laying down, falling asleep, and dreaming. I know there's more to it, but i just love playing this song in bed, it makes my imagination go wild for awhile, then relaxes me...

Yes, nothing like a dog singing in key to put you right to sleep. (sorry Seamus, you'll always have a place in my heart)

Yeah, Grind, I realized that shortly after I posted, but never had the will to make myself post my error. Thanks for correcting me.

As noted by my comment on "One of these days" I believe that this is song is about the release most of us have at the end of an extremely stressful day. The stressful day is played out in "One of these days"

I fall asleep to Meddle as well. Easily my favorite Pink Floyd album. As it is, I happen to write lyrics along the lines of Pink Floyd (but not nearly as good, yet). I usually listen to this album to stimulate my mind. It truly works. And I agree with your interpretation, FriedPie.

I love this song. Its so soft and yes, i do to fall asleep listening to this along echoes. And I to didn't give it the Credit it deserved because it was on the same cd as Echoes. I think its simply about sleeping, day ends and night begins with your love. Very beautiful song :)

This song is absolutely beautiful. It is very important to me because my best friend whom recently passed away introduced me to it and every time i hear it, i tear up. The feeling of absolute calm i get when i hear it is amazing.
