Pink Floyd Fearless Guitar Tab

I have been reading your version of "Fearless" by Pink Floyd and it's pretty close. I've
been screwing around with this song for years and played it on stage, completely differently
and wrongley from the way I'm going to sugguest in this message, and I think I've finally
got it.
I think the opening riff is alot easier if you drop the A string down to a G and play the pedal
G pattern on the open A string (David Gilmour loves to play little tricks, ie: "Hey You"),
that
way it leaves your hands free to play the ascending run. It also sets you up for easy power
chords
at the end of the riff just before the verse.:

The rest of the chords are as you have noted, you just have to remember to adjust the note
on
the A string a third, some chords sound better, more layered with the chord shape unchanged.

I have revised my Floyd top ten. Being my favorite band, I like most of their songs, but several stand out now: 1. Echoes 2. Shine on You Crazy Diamond (I-IX) 3. Brain Damage 4. Dogs 5. Speak To Me/Breathe 6. Time 7. Us and Them 8. Comfortably Numb 9. Wish You Were Here 10. Pigs (3 Different Ones) Other songs garnering interest: Astronomy Domine, Lucifer Sam, Bike, Jugband Blues, Atom Heart Mother, If, Arnold Layne, Julia Dream, Seamus, A Pillow of Winds, One of These Days, Free Four, Money, Welcome to the Machine, Have a Cigar, Sheep, Your Possible Pasts, When the Tigers Broke Free, The Fletcher Memorial Home If it sounds like I'm listing any song that comes to mind, that's because Pink Floyd has put out so many songs deserving of five stars (out of five). If it says anything, all but four of the songs on the top ten list have been my favorite overall song at some point. Fearless could be about Syd Barret, could be about climbing a hill, it all depends on the level of depth you want to go into. And I like this song more than I did in my previous post. While it is the weakest song on Meddle, it is no longer a weak link. Meddle is, simply put, the best album I have ever heard.

i think it is obviously about proving people wrong. "You'll never walk alone" Liverpool FC. Great ending. And being that the song is about proving people wrong and overcoming etc etc. I think it is appropriate for the year liverpool had this year.

There was some really good comments here. I really appreciate the comments "AnfieldRoad" made because I now have a better understanding of one of my Floyd favorites. I say one because there are many. hey jdm197, heres my top 10 floyd list 1. Wish you were here 2.Time 3. Money 4.Echos 5.brain damage/Eclipse 6.Us and Them 7.Shine on you crazy diamond (evey part :) ) 8.Pigs on the wing 9.Another brick in the wall (1-3) 10.Fearless 11. See Emily play ( i know im past 10) ... wow that was hard!! seriously, floyd has so much music and I only get 10 choices, well 11 here :) their is so much more i want to add, haha, its so incomplete!! If your a crazy floyd fan, you need to try this out, its harder than it looks! Well, i was just gonna say awesome fearless was and cool its such a great song, the meaning is right in the lyrics! i love it :)

It's more than just overcoming fear, it's about doing things people think aren't possible and proving they are. The last verse "fearlessly the idiot faced the crowd" is about Jesus. It's showing him not as a religious figure, but as a guide showing how you should do what you want and believe what you want even if you are wearing a thorny crown.

What do you mean when you say pink floyd is better than the black eyed peas. The black eyed peas have a much better drummer than pink floyd. And who needs roger waters when we have Fergie. Common, you know its the truth. Pink floyd may have been a one hit wonder with "Bring the boys back home," but the black eyed peas actually hav a lot of good songs. Do me a favor dollface, the next time you insult the black eyed peas, put a pinecone up your buttocks.

I think the meaning of the song has pretty much been analyzed all it can be, but just to chime in a little bit, let me just say that this is my favorite Pink Floyd song of all time. You hear a lot of Pink Floyd songs on The Wall or especially The Final Cut that are absolutely INCREDIBLE in their ability to portray war, pain, grief and isolation. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE THAT! That's an incredible skill to have as a musician. But despite all that, and perhaps BECAUSE of all that, this song is special because of the positive message behind it, and will always be my favorite Pink Floyd song!

LIVERPOOL FC is being cheered. The song being sung in the back ground is "You'll Never Walk Alone", which is sung at the beging and end of every Liverpool game. You'll never Walk Alone draws many similar parralels with the whole theme of "Fearless".

I think this song is simply about overcoming fear. Stepping out from the norm and facing the crowd and fearlessly finding your own path. (Im not to good with words at describing things, just listen....the music says it all)

Seems like a prophecy. Roger Waters and David Gilmour were in a very high state of mind when wrote this song, because its real meaning is so deep about present days, that it seems a pure prophecy.
