Pink Floyd
"Run Like Hell" from "The Wall (1979)"
Guitarist: David Gilmour w/ a Fender Strat.
Tuning: "Dropped "D"" low to high (DADgbe)

This tab is only for the cool strummy clean guitar part. i may write one for the muted guitar
part. maybe.
It's probably wrong, but it sounds awesome.
it's drop d. The "D" stands for "Deal with it"

DarkSideoftheWall, did you learn nothing from the album? When Pink goes completely insane, he suggests that all the people he disagrees with should be shot. This was not the opinion of the band. They were satirizing. I personally like the album, but everyone is entitled to his own opinion, and commecial success has no bearing on how good an album is.

this song is about running away from your problems, because you can't accept the fact that you can't change reality. You have to live in it, no matter how hard you try.

Also what the hell are you going on about? I think woodstock slightly beat The Wall. As for concept albums what about "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway?" "In The Court Of The Crimson King" not to mention "DARK SIDE OF THE MOON" Now wipe the shite from your mouth

craigus, do u know what your talking about, you claim to be a fan yet dont even know what order their albums came in, Animals was the album before the Wall, not after AHM. and, "wish you were hear"?? i wish you could hear how fucking dumb you sound. You are trying to convince me that the 3rd best selling album of all time is the worst concept album ever made? Are you fucking serious? The wall was largly autobiographical, it wasnt some fabricated bullshit that most other concept albums are. Roger waters never cared who like his music, even after they became popular PF never watered down their music so that they could sell more records. PF is the greatest band ever, and The Wall is the greatest concept album ever along with DSOM and Animals.

What in your previous posts was meant to be sarcastic? Are you being sarcastic now? Don't call me a moron, if you're going to be sarcastic, especially over the internet you have to find some way of letting people know you are being sarcastic. Other wise it's not going to be taken in a sarcastic manner and people are just going to flame you. Obviously IMJM didn't see your sarcasm either.

This song, although there aren't any lyrics, is about some of the crazy thing sin life that drive you to insanity by thinking too much. A man is running through an airport, trying to catch his flight. He gets to the gate, but the plane is already taking off. "Live for today, gone tomorrow, that's me..." As soon as it leaves the ground, BOOM!!!! It explodes, and you wonder if you were never meant to get on that plane. It's like what happened to many people on September 11, 2001 who were supposed to be in the WTC but decided otherwise at the last minute or some strange coincidence. Or maybe not a coincidence?? o.O

It's like the story of the song is like a man takes a trip on a plane, talks to someone before getting on, and says, "Leaving today, Gone tommorrow, that's me." and it's like the other man is laughing in his thoughts about killing him. So then at the end an explosion hits, and you can hear him running. Scary thought.

The only good song off of the shambles that is The Wall. It's funny how they went from greatness with Piper At The Gates Of The Dawn, Saucer full Of Secrets to a low with Atom Heart Mother - which wasn't that good. Then from that to Animals, Meddle {awesome}, Obscured By Clouds {Excellent} to the crowning achievement that was Dark side Of The Moon, and then Wish You Were Here which was a nice follow up and then boooom The Wall comes out and they suddenly sound so shit that the keyboard player leaves. The final cut was a total joke. I love Pink Floyd up to The Wall then it got too poppy and conventional. It’s so obvious that if they stuck with the "It ain’t broke so why fix it?" attitude they would have been a lot better on The Wall. As concept albums go The Wall is by far the worst ever made. this song is linked with the next song on the album time. about how time flys...and let life pass by..living an unforfilled life. "on the run" means trying to rush as much experience as possible into a lifetime which passes quickly. very spooky ^^

I'm sorry I don't understand, you said you were being sarcastic now you're saying you really don't like the wall. Hrm anyways, you're right no one is talking about the meaning of the song. I'm guessing maybe it's about how the Nazi's went through towns looking for Jews and other races. In the movie this song is played, it show's 'Pink' ravaging through a village with some racist skin-heads, symbolic of Nazis I would guess.
