one of my two favorite "moon" songs, along with "man on the moon" by REM...about losing touch with somebody, in this song through madness and in "man on the moon" through death...i always get a chill when they sing (in this song) "i'll see you on the dark side of the moon" and in the other when they sing "if you believed they put a man on the moon"...

Drexial you forgot "Wish You Were Here" and "Shine On You Crazy Diomand". Those were about Syd Barrett as well.

This song DOES have a connection to Syd. as does Wish you were here, and many of the other songs about the mind and pressures of the bisnuess. See vegetable man as well...

This song is so great. I sing to it everytime its on the radio and listen to my vinyl any time I can. Its about insanity. The whole Dark Side of the Moon album is. Did you know there is no dark side of the moon? But still love this song!!!!! Pink Floyd Forever

Haven't any of you heard of the Wizard of Oz and Dark Side of the Moon connection? Watch the movie with the volume down to the cd, start the cd after the MGM lion's third and final roar...

On the late-era Division Bell album, Dave Gilmour asks "Do you want me to make a daisy chain for you?" in reference to the lyrics in this early-era Floyd classic.

An amazing, but creepy song. Love it, one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs(Which is saying alot, I like em all). The whole song seems to build up to the line "I'll see you on the dark side of the moon"

It's about Syd. Waters said that the whole album was about Syd... well, not about him... but the themes of insanity and death (I'm not sure why death came in) were inspired by Syd (which is the whole album). -The Prynce http://www.theprynce.com
