Day after day, love turns grey

Like the skin of a dying man

And night after night, we pretend it's all right

But I have grown older and

You have grown colder and

Nothing is very much fun anymore.
C Em F C
And I can feel one of my turns coming on.

I feel, cold as a razor blade

Tight as a tourniquet

Dry as a funeral drum

Run to the bedroom, in the suitcase on the left

You'll find my favourite axe

Don't look so frightened

This is just a passing phase

One of my bad days

Would you like to watch T.V.?
Eb Bb
Or get between the sheets?
Dm
Or contemplate the silent freeway?

Would you like something to eat?

Would you like to learn to fly? Would you?

Why are you running away?

| This is about him snapping. He's let his wall raise up so high and every now-and-again he snaps and then retreats again. It's the story of a loonatic. | |

| The wall is about a guy going crazy....this song is about him going nuts and at the same time talking to a bystander like nothing is going on... then at the end he asks why are you running away.... he's obviously on drugs while he flips out | |

| this song seems to be pink talking to his wife and telling her that their relationship is falling apart in the beginning the song is slow and sad pink is also in a very bad state as he describes his marriage. when he says "Night after night, we pretend it's all right " this is describing how they are both are pretending that everything is fine but they both know eventually they will have to let go. After talking about this Pink has built up all of this rage because he knows that his marriage can't work but he is also too afraid to let go so in the next part of the song he flips out and starts yelling at his wife and throwing things. At the end she leaves him. When he says "why are you running away?" he is sad and scared because he knows that she isn't comin back. | |

| Another song that strongly showcases Roger's great voice. I don't hear nearly enough praise for the emotion and passion in Roger's singing..and it's so distinctive and British. I love it. | |
