| Sounds like he's beating against the wall or tearing it down in the beginning. He's talking about how education, drugs, even those who love you are something to keep you walled in and preventing you from what you want to become. | |

| Angie Chrsit has it right. The phrase writing on the wall is just an expression. It means you finally see the truth that's been staring you in the face all this time. The Wall IS about emotional walls but Roger Waters did perform The Wall live in Berlin after, I think, the Berlin wall came down. In other words he was applying it to their situation at that time even though he didn't write it about that. | |
