| I also disagree with Kafziel. The women arent empty spaces at all. They are bricks in the wall, just another thing in life that causes him to put up this protective boundary around himself. Hence the line "How can I complete the wall in the previous song" just as it breaks into this. This is his way of distancing himself further from his family and his emotions, by sleeping with women he doesn't care about instead of spending time with his wife, therefore he's completing the wall. You aren't thinking within the context of the wall. | |

| The lyrics are superficial and this song follows Empty Spaces... and young lust starts inmediatly after empty spaces ends... how shall he complete the empty spaces? ...he needs a girl thats it. | |

| I agree entirely with what mahakala said.. I couldn't exactly articulate what I wanted to say, but yes. picking up groupies/"dirty" women is just one way to distract him from the thought of his wife with another man, and a way to keep adding bricks to the wall. | |

| actually, goomba555213, this isn't about the band and their groupies, or raging hormones. they were talking about the character in the Wall. this was about his excessive lifestyle. it's about him and his groupies. but with Pink Floyd it isn't really necessary to just go by what Roger Waters meant for it, but to create your own meaning. your meaning actually works, too. | |
