Lyrics: (There are quite a few parts where I'm unsure of the correct lyrics.)
(play part 1)
I can hardly wait.
I can hardly wait.
I can hardly wait.
I can hardly wait.
(play part 2)
It's been so long
I've lost my taste
say, 'Angel come"
said, 'Lick my face"
lift all your drapes
I'll play the part
I'll open this mouth wide
eat your heart
(part 1)
ah...your heart...
I can hardly wait.
I can hardly wait.
I can hardly wait.
I can hardly wait.
(part 2)
Lips crack dry
tongue blue burns
said, "Angel come"
said, "Lick my thirst"
It's been so long
I've lost my taste
you run me around
make my water break
(part 1)
oh...oh...
In my glass coffin I am waiting.
In my glass coffin I am waiting.
In my glass coffin I am waiting.
In my glass coffin I am waiting.
(part 2)
In my glass coffin I am waiting.
In my glass coffin I am waiting.
In my glass coffin I am waiting.
In my glass coffin I am waiting.

| One of my favorite PJ Harvey songs ever... such a great song about long-awaited, long-needed sexual gratification, and not by yourself. Amazing song, with extremely minimal percussion, loud guitar, and heartfelt vocals. | |

| i think it's actually "Romeo, make my world as great". anyway, it seems to me this song is about anorexia. people with eating disorders often dream of being in a glass coffin. the lines "it's been so long/i've lost my taste" and "open this wide/eat your heart" are also evocative of that theme. fantastic song, and i especially enjoy the grotesque imagry of "lips cracked dry, tongue blue burst". | |

| I think it's about the anticipation of having sex after a long dry period. :D | |
