| If I were to think about Scandi's explanation and Liektotally's question, "She lays me down She lays me" kind of makes me think the housewife cheated. So, Maybe the person refered to as "I" and "Me" telling her she can do better than the guy, is politely convinceing her to leave the guy so they can be together. I dont know. "She wears her tears on her blouse confused and racked with self-doubt she stole the keys to my house and then she locked herself out." Self doubt and confusion could drive someone to be unfaithful (like a prostitute if you've ever heard that theory) And she felt dirty and it felt wrong to cheat on the guy who spends the afternoon between her thighs, so she tells herself she cant ever go back, and locks herself out from his world. Hmm maybe I read into it too much. | |

| When I hear this song I always think of my crush, and her unappreciative partner spending his time with her. "He spends the afternoon between her thighs" | |

| she's got vacuum cleaner eyes suck you in. for me: all the irrationalities and desperate raw needs she creates for herself in her imagination. she wears her tears on her blouse... she stole the keys to my house and then she locked herself out. she's doing it all to herself, but she can't help it. (vicious cycles?) | |

| "She stole the keys to my house and then she locked herself out" Just beautiful, and kinda heartbreaking. It's like she's taken his heart and run away with it. Locking herself out... she doesn't want him anymore but she still has his heart. | |

| This song is beautiful. Placebo when they are doing their best. And I agree with those of you saying it's about a transvestite. | |

| In my opinion he just sings about a person he loves but he can't have her, because there is someone else who is spending his afternoon between her tighs, for him her gazes are hypnotic, he just can't help falling into her. Maybe he even apologizes for loving her. It is also possible that he mentiones her tears and her confusion because she knows about him and his feelings what makes her think about him and what she might feel.. hm, i don't know... And Leaktotally, you're absolutely right, he really sounds like he would burst into tears, but it's not that obvious I just heard it after you gave that hint.. Whatever its meaning might be, wonderful song | |
