VERSE 3:
One fluid gesture, like stepping back in time.
Trapped in amber, petrified.
And still not satisfied
VERSE 4:
Airs and social graces, elocution so divine.
I'll stick to my needle, and my favourite waste of time,
both spineless and sublime.
CHORUS
NEED TO KNOW HOW TO TUNE YOUR GUITAR INTO THIS TUNING??
-Tighten the thick E string a little until it sounds the same as the A string
when you play the E string on the 4th fret.
-Tighten the A string a little until it sounds the same as the D string
when you play the A string on the 4th fret.
-Tighten the D string a little until it sounds the same as the G string
when you play the D string on the 4th fret.
-Tighten the G string a little until it sounds the same as the B string
when you play the G string on the 3rd fret.
-Tighten the B string a little until it sounds the same as the thin E string
when you play the B string on the 4th fret.
-Loosen the thin E string until it sounds just like the B (now the Bb/C#) string.
NOW, it should all be tuned to:F,A#,D#,G#,C,C;check by doing the standard tuning method:
-The F string must sound like the A# string when you play it on the 5th fret.
-The A# string must sound like the D# string when you play it on the 5th fret.
-The D# string must sound like the G# string when you play it on the 5th fret.
-The G# string must sound like the C string when you play it on the 4th fret.
-The C string and the thinner C string must sound alike at all times, i.e.
;if you play them while pressing down no frets or when you press down on any fret
;but you must press down on the same fret for both C strings.
SIMPLY: Just play both strings loose and they must sound the same!!
Hope I helped anyone who didn't know how to tune their guitar in this tuning.
NOTE: I just use an electric tuner to tune my guitar back into standard tuning!!
THat's it, very easy and so cool!!
It should be 100% correct because I have a live clip of Placebo
performing 'Teenage Angst' and I tabbed the song using that
clip as help.
any feedback welcome.

| It's about teenage angst but it's also a bit sarcastic, I think. "Since I was born I started to decay. Now nothing ever - ever goes my way." Sort of sums up the battle cry of angsty teens... like there's nothing to be cranky about so lets be cranky about the world not being fair (and we all know it never is lol) and dying eventually (because you know we all do and its nothing we can stop). I really like how tongue in cheek it all is. | |

| The piano version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LAQT2P_fEg&NR I love both versions, it doesn't matter where in life you are, one of them always fits in. Right now I'm at the piano, the hopelessly hopeless, but I bet the upbeat one is coming. | |

| Obviously this song's general theme is "teenage angst", hence the title. To me this song means a hell of alot, this song gives me flashbacks of my early teen angst years. But anyway, where Brian is saying "You see through my disguise" He's saying how people see through you when you try to be pretentious and be something your not. This is just my opinion but the "Shine the headlight" and "roadkill" lines before he might be relating it to some old boy racers pretending to be more of themselves. "Since I was born I started to decay. Now nothing ever ever goes my way " - This is self-explanatory, obviously he would be fed up when everything crashes down.. This is just my personal interpretation but in the line "I'll stick to my needle and my favourite waste of time" even though it's about a drug addiction I think it could be about looking for someone you love that has mysteriously dissapeared off the face of the earth, and trying to find them is a waste of time like they are a needle stuck in the haystack. It's spineless to look for ages and sublime when you've got the result. | |
