This is my fave song off 'Meds'. It's just awesome. Particularly the line "I'd break the back of love for you." as it reminds of someone.. But anyway, awesome track.

"Bag of Golden Brown" refers to heroin which looks similar to golden-brown sugar and comes in baggies, not to mention Brian talks alot about heroin in his songs (My Sweet Prince is about heroin), i thought that be kinda obvious.

The reason why I said menstrual cycle is if it was, that would reinforce her difficulty in getting pregnant along with all the other things killing her unborn babies (lifestyle). The other alternative interpretation would reinforce the rest of the song as well.

"Just wondering: instead of 'bag of golden brown', could it be 'bag of gold and brown'?" as forbidden_snowflake already stated, "golden brown" is a slang word for heroin. it's used in other songs of other artists too. See e.g., "Stranglers - Golden Brown" (lyrics: http://80stop.tripod.com/goldenbrown.html)

only other comment is that "vein" has no "e" at the end...sorry for always picking up on the typo's....as for the meaning...it does seem to be about drugs and sex, but i cant enlighten any more than that...sorry!

In true Palcebo-song-meanings style, lets say this is about pregnancy tests again ^_^. Post blue = after the test has gone blue. The repeated line "It's in the water, baby" = maybe how you pee on a stick for a pregnacny test. and the answer is 'in the water' I feel the lines in between are ways which could determine if they are pregnant or not: It's in the pills that bring you down = if they take a lot of drugs which are downers. OR perhaps talking about birth control, how they may take pills to lower the oestrogen, and therefore lessening the chance of conception? It's in your bag of golden brown = *cough* heroin *cough* It's in your frequency = the number of times you 'try' for it / have sex It's between you and me = no-one else knows apart form those two? or that it happened between them both. obvious i know but you never know. It's in the pills that pick you up = more drugs!!! this time...amphetamines... It's in the special way we fuck = obvious. It's in your family tree = could there be a hereditary element to chances of getting pregnant? if its a gentic thing, it could be less or more likely. Chorus: This suggests to me that he doesnt WANT her to be pregnant: Bite the hand that feeds = He's caring for her, or living with her and this is a shock to him. how will he support a kid? Tap the vein that bleeds = same sort of as above, in that the baby would bleed him coz of all the costs, etc. He's the one bleeding coz he's bringing in the income? Down on my bended knees= If he doesnt want it, then maybe its like a way of him begging for it to be aborted? or myabe its the whole, "you're pregant, we must get married". so he's asking her to marry him. I'd break the back of love for you = i'm not entirely accurate on the meaning of this phrase but if it means he'll 1. do anything for her i have a feeling this sounds insincere sometimes, like he doesnt mean it 2. he's go against what love stands for, e.g. by marrying her out of responsibility, and not love. END OF ANALYSIS please don't criticise me too much. i just always think of this stuff when listening to Post Blue and wanted to share.

Just wondering: instead of 'bag of golden brown', could it be 'bag of gold and brown'? Louis Vuitton products are gold and brown, usually, no? (I mean, he mentions Jimmy Choos, why not Louis Vuitton too? ;))

I Agree Spiner! Surprised ther's not many comments on the new songs! Not quite sure what the lyrics are supposed to mean apart from it being about sex and drugs but its great.

It's my friends favorite, but I don't like the sound as much as she does.

this song is absolutely awesome , the bass lines and the way Brian says "I'd brake the back of love for you" just make chills run down my spine.
