yea i agree with the stalkin/suicidal thing...i was wondering tho - at the end when it gets faster and faster and everything starts overlappin and then it just ends, does ne1 else get the urge to just shoot themselves - like the whole song is building up to pulling the trigger? just a thought...

I think the song is a very honest look at relationships and how they're almost certainly doomed to failure from the word go. The whole song is basically saying from the moment they met, they started to fall apart. The lyrics seem to back this up, but its more the general feel of the song.

Here's what I think the meaning could be: Everyone is thinking, a love story: first I did too but when you connect all the lyrics I see another issue... Try to follow me on this one: 1) Since we're feeling so anesthetised In our comfort zone comfort zone=home, parents, father or mother the fakeness of being a family, for the outside, a role family but that is just fake, cuz there are some problems going one we don't know of. 2) We're running out of alibis From the second of May His father/mother was always making excuses for not being there (alibis), for leaving him, and... on the 2nd of May, i think something bad happened; may b his father left them for good or may b his father/mother did something worse? 3) Reminds me of the summer time On this winter's day Reminds him of the summer time, on this winter's day: straight meaning: missing the time they spent togheter but I think this one is with a tone; like: yeah dad we had a great time, but oh... actually we didn't. the next one is always coming back: >Reminds me of the second time >That I followed you home Because in his mind, he is hesitating, what do to? He already followed him 2 times, so that makes sence to me. May b he want some answers, why did you leave us, why did you leave me, why did you love me but could not be there to tell/show me? 4) Every step we take that's synchronized Every broken bone they're connected, related because they have the same structure, the steps they take are synchronized: because of the father/sun thing. but second meaning can be that the father of his father made the same mistakes and, history is repeating itself? every broken bone: may b he did hit him when he was a child? and may b he hit not him, but his mother? ... broken bones (on that 2nd of may??) 5) You shower me with lullabies As you're walking away his father singing him songs when he went to bed, that was a good thing so I think he loved him but doesn't understand why he left them... so this is a feeling like: hm you loved me but still walked away... 6) Reminds me that it's killing time On this fateful day killing time, hm i don't think that he wants to kill him, i think he wants to know some answers, just because. and may b he was hoping that his father would come back (fateful day); may b every day he was hoping, and every day that passed by he was dissapointed and he wanted to kill him, but more in the i-miss-you-way... 7) the bitter end: may b the end of his pain, that he finally could have some answers? or like, you guys say: the end of there lifes? Just some thoughts, don't kill me for being wrong ;). Nevrwhere

Does anyone actually know what he says at the end? And no, it isn\'t what most sites believe it to be, beacuse if you listen then match the lyrics it doesn\'t go 100%. So please tell if you do know, its been bugging me.

I guess I knew that this relationship wasn't going to end all rosey. We're going nowhere now neither of us would feel a thing if it was ended, or would we? we've argued too much, said too much and seen too much. However "anesthetised" we feel now, the end will still be bitter. Yet we'll still be seeing each other. I love this song!

I think this song is about a guy that loved a girl but she dumped him and he wants to commit suicide... but it may be not as simple as that

I saw some interesting point but everyone keeps referring to this "she" that he is speaking about, most likely it is a HE since Brian swings both ways but more towards men or so I have read and seen at shows and clubs.
