| "what the 'More phsychedelic yuppie flu' exactly mean?" i think it means: young people without stronger impressions.. live life of ease.. maybe they're often hiiigh, inluenced by some psychedelics.. it's a flu, because they've been more and more.. in the icelandic isolation from other societies. | |

| I agree with Placebo711 because he sings the beginning of this song in a monotone voice, leaving his whiny voice; but then just breaks out on the last part "I'm medicated how are you?" and sings it with so much feeling. Gah. *shivers* | |

| Thanks for the corrections. I have changed the lyrics but I didn't change it to imbide because there is no such word. That is what I thought it was originally though. Also the chorus is not repeated at the end of the song. | |

| I read that too! He also said that there wasn't much to do there and the locals said they drink and f***k, so it's written about being in a bar getting drunk with some locals who suddenly become your best friend and then having drunken rants , putting the world to rights etc and then going out and doing something silly or whatever out of boredom, cos there's not much else to do.ican't remember what magazine that was in. when i first heard this though i felt the song had a very european feel to it i don't know why , it made me think of amsterdam or norway or something and when i heard it was iceland i couldn't beleive it, i just think they captured that vibe | |

| I love this song, it's grown on me tremendously since I first heard it. L'anyhoodle, I just thought I'd mention something that I thought of while listening to the song, let me know if you think the reference is too obscure or whatnot to be plausible. XD I was thinking about the line, 'of drum machines and landslides'. Some of you may or may not be aware that Doktor Avalanche is the drum machine used by The Sisters of Mercy. An avalanche is reasonably similar to a landslide, no? Anyway, sister of mercy is a slightly archaic term for a prostitute, soo, maybe the line's a long winded, veiled allusion to stories that took place in brothels? Okay, maybe not, but atleast I've got that off my chest now. :P | |

| It's written about teenagers in Iceland after Molko took a trip there. The crime rates are so low there that there are hardly any police, so it's kinda questioning what teenagers there do in terms of crime, which is 'follow the cops back home and rob their houses' | |

| The call to arms was never true I'm medicated how are you? lets take a dive swim right through sophisicated points of view That little four lined verse right there is one of the most meaningful little verse things on the album i'd say. Besides the part in Blind with the whole "your eyes forever glued to mine" part, I think that part was sung with lots of meaning and I love it. Brian's voice is amaaazing. | |

| On the album chart show ( C4 UK) Brian said that the song was inspired by a visit to Iceland during 24-hour sun. The vistas, the geysers, the salt pools and the fact that there is no crime there. I love this song (hey, I love most of the album), I guess the ‘and then we’ll rob’ them is a reference to the low crime rate. As for the rest of it, I really have no idea – except that I can’t afford a pair of Jimmy Choos! | |

| follow the cops back home is about dark-skinned people, i guess. The call to arms was never true Time to imbibe here's to you I'll tell you stories bruised and blue of drum machines and land slides -> for me it sounds like: come on, my friend, i want to tell you about those people who lied to us, who betrayed us... Just one more round before we're through More phsychedelic yuppie flu Its such a silly thing to do Now we're stuck on rewind -> some people are stuck in time with their opinion about others, you know what i mean.. let's follow the cops back home follow the cops back home lets follow the cops back home and rob their houses -> the guy, about whom i talked about in the first part of my opinion wants revenge... blame it on apartheid -> i think we all know, what apartheid is lets spend the night in jimmy choos I'll give you coats and cheap shampoo I'll give u nothing else to do -> i guess, this is a text-symbol for something like that they have no money & stuff. I'm medicated how are you? -> 'i've got enough of their stuff' i'm sorry for my english, i'm from germany ,] i hope, everybody understands what i wanted to say & please, please don't get me wrong .[ i luve this song | |

| Brilliant interpretation sepherenia! i think you're right , it's very cryptic isn't it! i think brian loves to write these cryptic lyrics and for people to decipher them, he is such a good writer, and that would tie in with the idea of it being old locals propping up the bar talking about their escapades! | |

| Thats because the lyric isnt IMBIDE its IMBIBE. I agree that Imbide is not a word, however Imbibe is. Imbibe means to drink which does make sense in that sentence. A time to drink, heres to you. Hope this clears it up! | |
