***PACHINKO - by Jem Finer
from the album "Waiting For Herb"
Pachinko - as perfomed by The Pogues
D A D A D A D
D
I'm walking down Roppongi
D
The night is hot and smoggy
G
I drink a little coffee
A
A sake and a beer
D
I run into a ginja man
D
He speaks but I don't understand
G
He grins at me and takes my hand
A
And whispers in my ear
D
I play Deji Pachi
D
I play Deji Pachi
G
I play Deji Pachi
A
In my Pachinko dream
D
I go Uchi Domi
D
I go Uchi Domi
G
I go Uchi Domi
A
In my Pachinko dream
D A D A D A D A
My senses all asunder
I stand and stare in wonder
There's bright light and there's thunder
In Pachinko land
Well versed in the way of Zen
My pockets lined full of yen
I walk the aisle and back again
And sit at Domo's hand
I play Deji Pachi
I play Deji Pachi
I play Deji Pachi
In my Pachinko dream
I go Uchi Domi
I go Uchi Domi
I go Uchi Domi
In my Pachinko dream
A D A D G A D 2x
I'm on the lexus fever
My hand tight on the lever
I'm shrieking like a diva
Staring in a trance
A
A
Turn the handle to the right
D
A stream of silver balls in flight
A
It screams and howls a blaze of light
D G
The earth moves below me
G
I'm laughing tears of sheer delight
A D
As I go Uchi Domi
I play Deji Pachi
I play Deji Pachi
I play Deji Pachi
In my Pachinko dream
I go Uchi Domi
I go Uchi Domi
I go Uchi Domi
In my Pachinko dream

| This is referring to the Japanese pinball/slot machine hybrid-like game Pachinko. Deji Pachi is a variation of it, and I'm guessing Uchi Domi is like getting a 'Jackpot." Great, song btw. Uh... yeah. | |

| All I can say is, "Why, God?" Don't get me wrong, the pogues kick ass. But an Irish dude with bad teeth singing in Japanese just seems so... blasphemous. | |
