The other "Crystal Lake" tab was off by a country mile (or for my metric-minded friends,
a kilometer).
Either way, it was off in a big time, major way. This is a bit closer.

| i agree with bandageris on the meaning of the song "my scenery is lakes and trees i just can't keep all concrete" thats like he does not have just one source of music (oposite of dec.) he has more than that and can play different music (tfr ,ycby). and i believe old ptw was better, but i really like this album, maybe a little bit repetitive but is awesome. they should make some more songs like Nerdy | |

| yes i feel i must agree with bandagediris...poison the well is an incredible band...Jeff Moreira is such a gifted writer he can bring me to tears...if you read the lyrics to the songs on "You Come Before You" you'll see that they're the same poison the well...I personally dont care what it sounds like so much as what it means. anyways, if the band wants to try new sounds out i say go for it! albeit i do like the older stuff better, by no means is the new stuff "bad"...a pefect example is this song...totally rocks me hardcore...each of ptw's albums is like an era...each era has some seriously kickass songs that are "still beautiful" (hehe parks and what you mean to me quote) and for this reason poison the well remain some of the most incredible musicians to date. | |

| personally i think this song is pretty much a big fuck you to everyone that doesn't like the new shit. i know it sounds i'm just blabbing because i'm loyal and there are alot of people out there that dislike You Come Before You, but if you read the lyrics and listen to the song you'll see. "I've fallen for this metal....so it's over for all of you".....think about it. | |

| im sorry, but i think this song is about murdering someone...at least at the end... two round holes cut into this fabric and i will slide it over my head i'll chase you for all hours i never see you make the effor to chase me now your final place is this lake stare at me now on your way down he obviously means sliding a mask over his head and watching someone drown in a lake. its probably just about friday the 13th...since glassjaw987 said crystal lake is the place in the movie. | |

| "overheard your converstaoin. tonight i'm not satisfied sitting here i realize that i always think i'm right so it's over for all of you" to me here he is talking about over hearing fans saying they sold out...of course it is about Jason but that would be a waist of cd room unless they just want to be random and pointless, so me i thiunk it has deeper meaning, they are an eno-core band so thought is put into the lyrics. i"'ve fallen for this metal and i love this handle so it's over for all of you" i think this is talking about finding a tad bit softer (if you will ) style and knowing those ignorant fans that say "if you sing you sell out" would never take the change as not selling out...i dunno i just cannot see him writing a song about jason vorhees and only jason vorhees | |

| Yes Yes people... it's about Friday the 13th. "..so it's over for all of you" this one explains itself, Jason is a murderer. duh. "..my scenery is lakes and trees" crystal lake. "..i've fallen for this metal and i love this handle, so it's over for all of you" obviously he's talking about his bigass knife here. "..two round holes cut into this fabric and i will slide it over my head i'll chase you for all hours.." like the guy above stated, the 2nd Friday the 13th movie had Jason using the cloth. "..i never see you make the effor to chase me.." well who'd want to chase Jason?? "..now your final place is this lake stare at me now on your way down.." see? it's OBVIOUSLY about friday the 13th. no big fuck you's for anyone or anything. just a song. about Jason. woo whoo. okay, I'm done. | |

| The new album blows... I have no idea what you posers are talking about. Did you just start listening to hardcore in the last year or something?? This release, Give Up The Ghost's last release before they broke up, the new A Static Lullaby... I can't stand the direction that these now "mainstream" bands are taking. | |

| could it not be on the surface its about the movie and the movie is a symbol? I haven't seen the movie, but I'm guessing Jason was tormented and that led to him becoming a murderer and therefore its both about the movie and about the people who just want to rip a band apart when they do something new instead of accept it they just want to cry about it. I happen to think this is an excellent disc and if you don't like it than that's too bad. | |

| Who cares what it is about. Seriously, PtW doesn't cater to the idea that their stuff is deeper and any more meaningful than what's at YOUR face value. Their ideaology is what you see is what you get. Take it for what it is, a relapse into TfR, meaning a mroe hardcore song. I personally love Opposite of December, but I do believe that Ycby is a great leap from TfR. They've gotten better with this album, it's a more accomplished piece than its predecessors, but it lacks the anger and sense of longing the previous albums had been imbued with. | |

I never saw it from that point but i do kind of doubt that jeff would write about a horror movie. he mainly sticks to feelings as previous albums will remind you. i know there are a bunch of hXc bands that do shit like that, but i like to think ptw isnt just another hardcore band. | |

Musical Genius |
#24 by oh.... THAT guy at Aug 25, 2002 at 7:15 PM EST |
| I don't believe that a band like PTW would create a song based ONLY on a movie...although it IS based by the Friday the 13th movie, through the eyes of Jason but if anyone remembers, Jason was critizied and scrutinized for his "difference" I think of it as this Jason symbolizes PTW, as he hears all the taunts and down-talk...people "picking" at their differences. "I've fallen for this 'metal'" - of course.. "and I love this handle" - although simple...I think its meaning the mic and his unwillingness to yeild because of his love for the music and this is a far off shot...but I'm pretty sure if this is all symbolistic then all the lyrics of "its over for all of you, now your final place is this lake, stare at me now on your wat down" is in reference to all the "fans" that dislike the new sound no longer being one with the band Not sure but thats my take on it | |
