Popsicle is a trademarked name for a frozen treat on a stick. The treat is commonly known in the United Kingdom as an ice lolly. The trademark is owned by Unilever, and in the United States is part of their Good Humor-Breyers unit, although the term "popsicle" has entered the general vernacular in that country.
The first recorded Popsicle was created in 1905 by 11-year-old Frank Epperson, who had left a glass of soda water powder and water, which was a popular drink in those days, on a windowsill outside with a glass mixing stick in it.
