I think that this song is talking about the power of persuasion. The "Stars" (famous people from hollywood) control the minds of young children and even adults everywhere. When someone like Tom Cruise says that he beleives in scientology, some people become scientologists just because they want to be like Tom Cruise. Even though scientology is completely fucked up. Anyways, When the stars revolt, or give their opinion on something, the mass majority of retarded Americans will follow them. But the thing is, is that the stars do not control themselves. They are controlled by music reps. and CEO's of music companies as well as whatever label they are signed with. So if the powerfull people controlling the stars want something changed or said, they use the stars to revolt and get what they want. "they're only doing what they're told." When the stars revolt, people follow, and the people controlling the star's revolt get what they want.

The intro sounds just like Rob Zombie, especially Scum of the Earth, but that's where the similarities end. Great song!
