Skank is a dance, a way of moving. I'm from the north of England. These are pretty common terms where I come from. | |

| OK I can understand the phrases "got brass in pocket" and "got bottle." Though I've never heard anyone other than her use either of those phrases, they do make sense in the context of this song. Now for "got new skank it's so reet" - that's weird. | |

| I would like to propose that this song is about shooting someone. Though there are references to making someone notice using style and sidestep, if you read the song’s lyrics and think of the brass in her pocket being bullets, perhaps she is going to not make this person notice on a level of romance (though it seems she has tried before), maybe she is so frustrated about not being able to make this person notice using her looks that she is going to shoot this person. It may seem that this song is simple and about girl meets guy, but I get the impression that this song is about something a little bit deeper than love, perhaps hate. Maybe she once wanted to go out with this guy but he didn’t want to and now she is so mad she wants to kill him. I think the lines “Got new skank it’s so reet, got something I’m winking at you” have double meanings that may seem like dancing, but are not. Maybe the new skank is a metaphor for having a plan to kill someone and the “something” that she has when she is winking at the guy is a gun. Just a thought. | |
