| Yeh as was mentioned there are very obvious allusions to the religious hymn "Amazing Grace", but it should also be noted that the recurring line "My light shines on" is an appropriation of the hymn "Let Your Light Shine On", also obviously quite spiritual. These allusions, combined with the almost church-choir like sounds of the backing vocals gives the song a highly spiritual feel | |

| Though intentionally ambiguous, the song's generally perceived to be about moving up on drugs. The refences to hymns examine drug taking as a religeous experience. The whole of Screamadelica is pretty much a drug trip in motion - Movin On Up - Higher Than The Sun - I'm Comin Down. You get the idea. | |

| Look at the 1st verse of the song Amazing Grace: Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.... I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see. Similarities, right?! Especially: "I was blind, but now I see" and "I was lost, but now I'm found". I know next to nothing about primal scream (only that I love the few songs that I know by them!), so I don't really feel like I can comment... but to me ellie's right - it's spiritual. | |
