	So I thought I'd thow in my two cents, as some before me have wisley noted, the song is not meant to be lyricly compelling (Nor are many Primus tunes) but this actually is based off of an old kids story which has many counterparts. For instance the cool cat figure; much like the now haggered Tommy, can be witnessed in the animated Disney film The Aristicats. I think its brilliant as well to bring in the great Tom Waits as Tommy.

	It's a good story...Tommy The Cat is the lion of the alleyways. He is the top dog...i mean cat of his species. I wonder what would happen if he met a 100 pound doberman dog? Would he live or die?

	check out some of the live versions of this song for some of the best soloing you'll here from all three members of Primus. Also i seriously doubt that this song is about either the revolutionary or civil war and i think the nick cave reference is also coincidence. I think Opinionhead got it right and I wouldn't know about the Aristocrats reference, I will have to check it out.
