To make it clear, I didin't mean the entire song was about Vietnam, just that one line. You know, how the Gulf War is resembling Vietnam, and how people don't realize it (ignore history).

obviously about war, just overall war, not one certain one. It also refers to the people who make them go into war that have all the power and don't care what happens to the people. Good one, JAStewart

Definately an anti-war song. Jackyl is right, this song was written well before the gulf war. Leading up to the current war against Iraq, Les Claypool posted on the Primus website forums that all fans should call radio stations and request "Too Many Puppies", sort of his own mini anti-war protest.

indeed in the video it has a guy with an army helmet, wearing a nappy, shooting a gun and drinking milk form a bottle!

it is about the young generation going into the army and going to war. "Too many puppies being shot in the dark."
