well written song, i love the lyrics. "As he stood by and waited to be called He stood by and waited to be called He stood by and waited like the others before For his turn to go over the falls" i think it's about waiting to die or something

I agree completely with the above person, who seems to think of Primus songs as I do. It feels dark to me (so maybe about waiting to die) though it isn't as heavy (musically) as some of their darker songs like Too Many Puppies. Therefore maybe it's about life after youth or taking risks in life.

I agree that the surface meaning is about the person(s) that took the capsule thing over the niagra falls. A handful of people have done this, all against the law, but this song may relate to the first person doing it. As for a deeper meaning, I agree it could be about someone dieing, or being killed. But I also think it could be a general statement about doing somehting everyone says you should do and it turns out to be a not very good decision. Kind of like when people want to see the result of something and egg someone on to do it, when that person really doesn't want to, but they do it to appease those they are going on about them doing it.

It's just about persistence, they're laughing at him, they don't think he can do it, so he proves them wrong.

did you guys realize that the barrel the guy in the video was making was metal, and he's entering a large body of water, which is what you should not do in a lightning storm, because all the land (or water) around you is flat and you're the tallest thing in the area. so, if you're the tallest thing in the area, metal, and looking to the lightning with glee, this cat's probably looking to die doing something he's been trying to do. or perhaps ready to die afterwards? I'm really not sure, just an idea.
