The lyrics contributed by Pablo (05-18-2004) listed under "Whiter Shade of Pale" instead of "A Whiter Shade.." are much better, but still not 100%. At least the mistranslated phrases are interesting. I'm guessing Psycho pr's version is either a revision by a different artist or some kind of a bad joke.

Every song can't be about drugs! I don't know exactly what it's "about", but the line "whiter shade of pale" is somehow very sad. Like something that was already ruined just went even further down the drain. This song makes me pretty sad in general. *sniff*

yeah, kinda funny how you said that the line whiter shade of pale made you sniffle. it is about cocain, at least the whiter shade of pale part is.

I heard somewhere that this beautiful song is simply picking on the apparent nonsense of psychedelic lyrics by guys like Lennon and Barrett...but it has to mean something. It's too beautiful not to. I was hoping somebody knew.

Well, even though those contributed lyrics are utter crap, my first thought of this song was Titanic, and how a survivor tells a tale to a girl and she gets shocked and her face just ghostly turns into a whiter shade of pale. Probably wrong, but it's what this song means to me.
