On the very basic level this song, even this album, is talking about over coming oppression. Who is oppressing him, I don't know. It could be sin, or the devil, or maybe some one human. I think its interesting how the end of 'Truthless Heros' ended with 'Hallow Again' meaning that he was led astray and didn't notice until it was too late, and then this song that talks about the demise of his "captor" I've heard this song was talking about the end times on other forums, I'm not sure I agree with that.

Like freerider said, I don't limit this song to be pointed at the devil exclusively. The oppressor mentioned could be another person or even society. In the end, it could be one or all. At any rate, this is a very liberating song. I love it.

I get this strong vibe that this song is about the transformation people go under when accepting Christ into their lives. There are many references to the past, of what the singer has now moved on from, and where he is now. "In this solace I see A light piercing the darkness Coming on the winds Of imagery When all I know is crumbling I am becoming something more than humanity could ever allow me to be" It seems like he's speaking to the evil he was once a part of, almost telling Satan his fate. Telling him what will become (or became) of him on that day, when Jesus rose and defeated him.(hill reference) So he's almost reflecting, back to Satan, all he did, right before his 'execution'...saying how he will not miss what he once was, and has found something better. And now, the time has come. And yeah, definitely a spiritual standpoint on the song, but it does relate in other instances as well, like freerider and skyline said. Amazing song.
