Why Ever Did We Meet - The Promise Ring
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: d_man2k
Email: deanpesani@hotmail.com
Tuning: eBGDAE (standard)
This is a really simple song to play, for starters, it play's the same riff
almost all the way through, and secondly, it consists of a few simple power
chords. It sounds pretty good, too.
e|----| |----| |----|
B|----| |----| |----|
G|----| |----| |-9--|
D|-9--|x20 |-13-|x5 |-9--|x6
A|-9--| |-13-| |-7--|
E|-7--| |-11-| |----|
repeat
after a few repetitions of this, it goes:
e|----| |----|
B|----| |----|
G|----| |----|
D|-9--|x20 |-7--|x20 then it just carries on as normal
A|-9--| |-7--|
E|-7--| |-5--|
you can play
e|---- |----
B|---- |----
G|-9-- |----
D|-9-- like this |-14- but I find the former easier
A|-7-- |-14- to change to the first chord from.
E|---- |-12-

| ahhh hang on, the order's wrong... it should be: And your hair pinned up in circles worn like a widow to second the motion of second nature. Like two rafts knotted and still where sound is lost and found. But I fear its all coming back to me. Under that threat of sky we lie together, why care about the weather. It only ends in darkness. You're always dressed and buttoned up. You're always dressed and buttoned up. And between 19 and 40, for tea will have changed me. And turning from the invading light on my naked room, my naked room. Our coffee stains and dusty coughing. You're always dressed and buttoned up. | |

| "Why care about the weather...It only ends in dark." It sounds like an emo-core equivalent to that "Don't sweat the small stuff" book. | |

| they are kind of emo, more so than alot of the bands people call emo nowadays... promise ring are kind of post-emo almost it's hard to explain but just think of The Get Up Kids, Texas Is The Reason, Jimmy Eat World (circa and pre Static Prevails)... it's all linked to emo music... besides that was before you knew it existed because you were about 9. don't mean to be patronising but it's true. | |
