(Intro - G C G)

G C G
Without you my life has become
Em C G
A hangover without end
D C G C
A movie made for TV
C D Em
Bad dialogue, bad acting, no interest
C D G
Too long with no story and no sex

Is it a kind of weakness
To miss someone so much?
To wish the day would go away
Like you did yesterday
Just like you did yesterday

(Whistling - Same as verse chords)

G C
And I can't think of a way to get through this pain
C G
To be happy again to make it all alright
G
And I know it must be bad
C
Cos sitting here right now

All I know is I can't even think
Em C D
Can't even think of anything clever to say
C
To say, so I say

Why pretend any longer?
Cos I need you here with me
It's obvious that I miss you so much
So please say you're gonna stay
So please say you're gonna stay
So please say you're gonna stay

The night is getting darker now
And there's nothing on TV
But I'll sit tight
Til morning light
Yeah, I'll wait until the day
Until the day that you say you're gonna stay

When my last girlfriend dumped me, I listened to this song so much. I didn't even like her that much, but this really made me feel better. I told one of my friends about it, and he said that he had experienced the exact same thing with the same song. A testament to the songwriter's ability, I feel. It is a great gift to be able to write a song about unrequited love and not come off a little unoriginal and insincere in the process.

Oh fuck... I love this song sooo much.... Feeling the absense of that person you love so much and you just lost. Asking that one to come back... TV Movie... A great and clever analogy...

i love the idea that he's written a song about being so distraught that he can't even write a song. "can't even think of anything clever to say" has always given me this image of him sitting there with his notepad and pen, trying to write a song but realising that he really can't think of anything apart from this person... well, that's what i think. i love this song. it makes me cry. ♥
